I’m a bit late with that but I want to say that yesterday’s picture on the Cam was great. A c composition in green… Very beautiful.

And Mark Westlake’s picture today is nice, too. Just a patient photographer will take that shot. My father took photos of waterfowl and birds and he really took about 800 (!!!) and among them are just about five that are absolutely great.

Pat, I loved your story about your Susie’s horse. I tried to imagine how the horse was acting. Funny…

Hello All!

Good for you Phillis, YOU CAN DO IT!!!

Annette so glad that you are fine, and that the houses were not completely destroyed. I am very sad when I read the news on the earthquake victims. I feel Liz, too there is something weird with the weather, and with the earth. I guess we need to get use to the changes, and learn to adapt some how.

Liz, get that photo so you can show everyone how proud you are.

Mr. Mies I haven\'t washed my vehicle for several weeks now, the theory goes if you wash it the rain will come. I heard a robin today, and it was nice. Alot of snow melted in my yard today. I have a willow tree in my back, that I am going to have cut to the stump. It is in bad shape. Don\'t worry I have planted 3 aspens and 3 apple trees in my small yard. I may plant another aspen this summer.

Well off for now, must pay the darn bills.

Love and Hugs,

Steph

9 years, off the sticks, not my will, just some how#8>} I realized if I could not breath, I could not smoke, obviously the priority is breathing. Feeling the air is the key. Feeling the smoke is the illusion.

Before I forget ,,, and not to toot my own horn,,, Happy St. Patrick\'s Day. Shamrocks grow at my front door, even in the winter.

God for you Phillis, keep it up. It\'s been 25 years, 2 1/2 packs a day, since I quit. Have not regreted a day of it.

Pat-My horse, Beauty, was so stubborn she would have starved before she let my mother feed her. My sister couldn\'t get on her & if she did she would just stand still & wait until she gave up or she\'d buck her off. I could ride her anywhere bareback & just a halter no problems. But she hated women for sure.

Steph-You\'re right spring is in the air. Yesterday I fired up the pressure washer & cleaned my truck. Amazing, it was still silver under all that dirt.

Liz, Steph, Pat, the storms are gone and we are safe again. It was scary as you usually don’t know how hard you are hit by them. There were a lot of roof tiles scattered around in our neighbourhood and broken trees and flooded streets. Our letterbox was a bit ‘plucked’ but except of that everything is okay.

Mick, I’m glad the storm missed you. I think winter in your place was hard enough to deal with.

Mr Mies, nice to know you are around here for the next few days.

Phillis, it pays to hang in there.

Later...

I have to confess something. Today is my 4th day without a cigarette. It\'s not been as bad as I thought it would be, but I\'m disappointed the hubby hasn\'t even noticed...I\'m still proud of myself tho.

Stephanie, so happy you had a pretty day for a change. We had a gorgeous day on Saturday and it did much to improve my mood. I\'m glad last week is over. It was too busy for my tastes. Hubby had a root canal yesterday and I personally spoke with the contractor about my kitchen. The promise was \"by the end of this week\". But I\'m not holding my breath. Happy Tuesday to you all.

Hello all! Nice day here for once. Actually was so warm around 48F that I did not take a winter coat. First day of spring for meteorlogists. So spring is just around the corner.

I guess last Thursday around 3:01 AM there was a 2.1 earthquake 38 miles NW of Riverton. I guess that would explain my neighbors cat meowing at my door. Well anyways, tomorrow is Tuesday and it will be a great day, because I said so. So Webbie check the furnace, and Mr. Mies check the sea, and Mick check the mountains. Pat find Madam Woo and have her fix Mother Nature. Maybe we all need to be nice to Mother Nature and each other.

Love and Hugs,

Steph

Nice horses on CAM 5, Annette. My Susie was here today and was making me laugh, she has a new horse she is riding to work the hunting dogs she and her partner train, and she says this mare is the stupidest thing she\'s ever seen, that she\'d walk right off a cliff if you didn\'t stop her. The horse forgets what she\'s doing, and wanders around aimlessly looking dumb and bumping into things. Sue was stumbling around my kitchen imitating the horse, and I was falling over laughing. She says this horse doesn\'t like women, and that she doesn\'t like the horse, either, that she\'s a b***h. I told her that she was getting her species mixed up. Her old faithful mount is getting too old to work, and has been put out to pasture, and half the problem is probably that Sue misses him. My Susie is great company.

I\'ve got some paperwork to do, so I\'m out of here. Y\'all Take Care.

Pat

Annette, I hope you are OK. It sounds like a terrible storm in France...it killed a number of people, and I hope it was diminished by the time it came past you.

There\'s wild weather all over the world lately. All weather events seem to be more frequent and stronger. Colder winters, hotter summers, too much or too little rain and snow, more and stronger hurricanes and tornados...sounds like what the global warming/climate change people were predicting, doesn\'t it?

Ha, that would be \"human genetics at Oxford\". Sorry.

One thing about it, though, is that if you are tired reading and trying to understand just one page will wear you out so much that it will put you right to sleep. No insomnia here. Hehehehehe.

Mar, the book is \"Saxons, Vikings and Celts\" subtitled \"The Genetic Roots of Britain and Ireland\" by Bryan Sykes, a professor of human enetics at Oxford University. He is the one who wrote \"The Seven Daughters of Eve\" which traces female DNA from 7 prehistoric women to all modern women. In other words, we are all decended from these 7 women as they evolved into humaness, and it\'s traced by the mother-to-daughter DNA makeup. It\'s hard going because I am not very scientific, and I will have to read it several more times to understand it, but it is still fascinating. The writer is connecting European migrations with archeological ruins and legends and DNA taken from current inhabitants of different locations, and finding that there is still physical proof that some of the legends and mystical historical tales are true. Knockout stuff.

I\'m glad to hear you won\'t be checking out any time soon, Mr. Mies. You are just getting into what is supposed to be the golden years.

Micilin, what\'s wrong, will the Easter Bunny refuse to leave you any chocolate eggs if you haven\'t lost some pebbles before Easter? That doesn\'t seem fair.

Hello, Clarence. I think you have the right idea. I expect the plates were shaking in Chile on Saturday, the poor people there, it\'s awful.

Steph, I love old cemeteries, too. I can spend hours wandering around in them, just imagining the lives those people led. What\'s sad to me, is to see a family plot where 3 or 4 children were carried away by some childhood contagious sickness, sometimes within days of each other. We don\'t appreciate that we live in times where that seldom happens any more...we should be thankful, we are lucky.
