I remembered that 2 years ago she had asked me to leave Ken\'s bank account open for a month, as his Manager\'s bonus would be going in at the end of Feb \'07. So, once that was gone through, I had the sad task of closing his bank accounts.. But seemingly, there was more money due to him, for holidays and other bits and pieces, and it was just sitting there for all this time.

It was such a shock, and brought me down and highlighted even more than before the great great loss that is Ken\'s life. I didn\'t think that my heart could break any more than it was already broken, but now a new little piece has broken off.

This life can be so cruel, and it hurts to live it, but the one thing I have learned over the past two years is that it does go on.... No matter how sad, or how painful, life goes on....

Will catch up later. Take care everyone...

Hi everyone,

where does time go????

Have been getting my head around things for the past few days.

2 years since Ken left me, and I had reached a sort of plateau, where I had learned to cope, where I was safe, where I was used to the pain but not to the loss.

Then, out of the blue I got a call from the HR Manager of Ken\'s company. She is a lovely girl, and her task wasn\'t easy, but she had to tell me that there was a sum of money sitting in their finance department, which was due to Ken.

Steph-It\'s been raining here since yesterday afternoon, I\'ll send some your way.

Pat-Yes it\'s a frozen waterfall & it\'s there like this every year. The only running water is in the Columbia River & that was under the boat. The picture was an accident, I was trying to get 2 eagles perched on the top branches of the tree. In the cold the shutter on the camera would delay for about 5 seconds. I snapped the picture but before it took a wake hit our boat & this was the result.

Hello all! Well it was a nice day here! Springy and warm. High of 66F. Matter of fact I\'ve been watching to see if my flowers are coming up, and one tulip is starting to have leaves. I was bad this evening and water my front yard. Well without any moisture since Jan. 26 (?) It needed water. I can\'t wait for Mother Nature. I even did a rain dance last week, well maybe it wasn\'t as good as usually.

Anyways, I have some nice spring flower photos I could send to Webbie, from years past.

Love and Hugs,

Quite a spectacular view on that pic on CAM 5, Mr. Mies, looking down into that gorge. Is that a waterfall I see in the background? It looks as if it\'s frozen, bu running water doesn\'t freeze, I think. I think there is a stream running away from it that doesn\'t look frozen. Am I seeing things that aren\'t there?

It has been very quiet on here today. Has everybody had the Monday blues?

I\'m glad your rhubarb is sprouting, Steph. It gives you hope that Spring is actually not too far away. Do you make rhubarb pies? Yum.

We are to have a frost tonight, and it had better be the last of the year, or I am going to have to tear some arms and legs off. I shouldn\'t complain, there\'s snow all across the country north of me, flights cancelled and electrical outages. I hope this is the last of the winter we will all see.

Y\'all behave.

Bye!

Hello blokes

Lots of sunshine and blue sky today.

Even one or two girls in mini-skirts bouncing past the office window - must be spring.

Had a wander up the garden path before work and spied a couple of daffodils nodding their golden heads.

Pleased to see Mr Mies is home safe from his fishing trip.

Liz-We can\'t have a Freezeout in warm weather can we I\'m glad you have Mr A. to work on now, my knee feels the best it has in years.

Pat-Lunch was great, the Disco we used to cook the tacos was made for me. Now I can use it to cook anything you would use a wok for. It is made from an agricultural disc wheel, with legs, and placed over a campfire. There was some brisket left, which I will take to work tomorrow to fed the hungry masses there.

Isn\'t it nice to see your crocuses and snowdrops popping up, Annette? I\'ve got a few azaleas, and I\'m waiting for the dogwoods, then the wisteria. We have some big old oaks here where wisteria has grown up around the trunks into the highest branches, and you can stand under them and look up and see those purple blossoms against the blue sky, it\'s gorgeous. Almost as pretty as Jacarandas. I don\'t have Jacarandas here, we are too far north, but Liz has them. I\'m jealous.

Where is Treasa and her story?

I\'m off to the BFC to read for a while. Y\'all have a good week.

Liz, did you send out pics of Reghan\'s first day at school and birthday celebrations yet? You didn\'t send any to me. Damn, you forget me all the time!

Grandgirls were here today, they are so lively and full of fun, I am always tired when they go home. They are growing up too fast. You know how, when they are leaving that little girl stage and turning into teen agers, every now and then you get a fleeting glimpse of how they will look when they grow up, and I have to tell you, my Erin is going to be a beauty. Green eyes, thick auburn hair, lovely skin. I don\'t see it yet in Lauren, she\'s still a little tomboy, but I think we will have a knockout on our hands with Erin. And that\'s just a grandmother speaking, I know.

I\'m too proud of them.

UNCLE DICK, I HADN\'T HEARD ABOUT THAT INCIDENT, AND I AM GLAD TO HEAR THAT OBAMA IS BEING PROTECTED. THERE ARE ENOUGH FACTIONS HERE WHO WOULDN\'T BE UPSET IF HE WERE INCAPACITATED, IT WOULD COMFORT THOSE WHO DON\'T WANT TO SEE WHAT HAS BEEN THE STATUS QUO CHANGED, LIKE BIG OIL, THE PHARMACOLOGICAL INDUSTRY AND OTHERS, AND THEIR LOBBYISTS, NOT TO SPEAK OF JUST DEMENTED PEOPLE. RUSH LIMBAUGH DID A BROADCAST JUST TODAY ATTACKING HIS POLICIES. OBAMA\'S SECURITY MEASURES CAN\'T BE TOO STRONG TO SUIT ME, HE\'S STEPPED ON TOO MANY TOES OF THE POWERFUL AND RUTHLESS TO BE BLASE ABOUT THAT.

Liz, it didnn\'t snow here, but Atlanta is only about 250 miles north of us. It seldom snows there.

We had a low of 40F last night, and it didn\'t get any warmer all day. There was a high of 78F yesterday, and that is just a little higher than normal for us this time of year, but we will have frost tonight. Bummer.

Nice snow pic, Dee Langevin. Snow is pretty when it has just come down, it puts a whole new look on the landscape. Thank you, I enjoyed seeing the picture, but I don\'t want to be there.

Poor Mr. Mies. Hardly any fish. I hope your bountiful lunch and your friends\' poker playing made y\'all feel a little better. And the hot tub, and all. I feel so sorry for you. Is any of that brisket left over? Send me some, if so, please.

Mieses vacation is over, I got home today around 11:00am, repossessed the remote & settled in to watch the Cup Race in Las Vegas.

It wasn\'t the best Freezeout this year, only about 6 walleyes caught between 41 anglers. It was the first time in 12 years, that I fished that water, that I didn\'t catch a couple. I only caught 1 trout & that was yesterday afternoon. The biggest fish was 6.8#s & they caught 3 of the 6 fish. We had a great shore lunch with fresh cooked fish tacos, BBQed brisket, Jambalaya, peach & blackberry cobbler, & lots of beans & pasta salads. The weather held, no rain or snow until today. It never warmed up much mid-20\'sF on Friday & high 30\'sF yesterday. All in all we had a great time, some more than others, as they stayed up until 4:00am this morning playing poker in one of the rooms.

Maria, I\'m also impressed by the beautiful flowers in Ireland. Nearly all of them grow here around, too but at us it is too cold in autumn and winter and so they always die. I think many of them can survive in Ireland over the winter and don\'t have to start again every spring. Greetings from Franka to you, too.

I wonder where Mies is. She\'s probably juggling with all of her remotes. She must use the opportunity when Mr Mies isn\'t at home. Leaf jumping and remote juggling... tstststs... what other olympic disciplines will she invent? hehehehe

Stephanie, Mick, Pat and all I missed...

Have a nice start into the new week.

Beautiful sunny day here today. The snowdrops, crocuses, primroses and other spring flowers stick out of the old leaves on the ground. They strech for the sun after our cold winter and the garden came alive with colour within the last two days.

Liz, Robert is okay again. He was some days at home and we spoiled him. But now he is at school again and I\'m glad he doesn\'t stand in my way any longer. Mr A is still hobbling a bit. He had trouble with his knee several times before. When he twisted his knee this time he just reproduced an old injury. The problem is the doctors can\'t find the cause for it and don\'t know what to do.

S. O\'Muiri, it seems as if you played with them. Great photo.

Webbie, thanks for the funny cleeks the last days.

Mornin\'...

Geez, Micilin. You\'re dangerous. After you\'ve scrubbed them up, stab the top side of your potatoes a couple times with a fork before you put them in to bake. That will allow the steam to escape and they won\'t explode. I rub mine with a little cooking oil, too, it keeps the skin tasty and crisp, and you really should eat the skins, that\'s where all the vitamins are.

We had big thunderstorms in the night, and I hear that there is light snow falling almost as far south as the Florida/Georgia line. Snow is kind of a rarity in Atlanta. Very strange weather.

Everybody Take Care.
