Ms Connolly will probably know of Foster and Allen and their big hit - After all these years. Here is a site of another friend who has played in their backing group for over 20 years - www.olliekennedy.com - Ollie wrote the song for Foster and Allen. They ahve a very big following in Oz and have just returned from a tour there. Ollie is a different style of singer and has a lot of original stuff on his CD\'s. Same applies here I can send one full file if you like. Ollie\'s site links to www.irelandsmusic.com

I promise this is the last commercial for this month.....lol....Slainte

Webmaster-Comment: Listen to this guy Joe O'Hehir at this site
www.irelandsmusic.com
His second offering - Country & Irish. Go to track 16 - the Town I loved so well. There is a 30 second snippet there. It's about Derry. This song was made famous by Josef Locke (RIP). Liz will have known about him I think. Anyway Joe does a fine rendering of that song.
Beware - I am wearing my promotions hat here. If any of you like that number I will send the full version to you by email - best not to look for it if you dont like it...or if you dont have broadband (DSL) cuz it would take forever to download. File is roughly 7mb.....so some hotmail addies would be out too. Nearly sounds like I dont want to send but that is not the case. And of course if you like the sound of that guy you might consider purchasing the CD......But, I stress, no pressures on anyone to do that.

Hi, Liz...

The Chopstick method tells me that it is 11:15 pm on Monday at my house, and it is 1:15 pm Tuesday at your house.

We love the 3 Irish tenors here, but we don\'t get them often enough, usually only about St. Patrick\'s Day.

I need to ask Webbie if I order a Compact Disk from Ireland, will it play on my American CD player? I think so, although I know there is some difference in electrical currents so that American hair dryers, etc, won\'t work in England and Ireland without some kind of transformer. Is that still the case, Webbie? And will the disk play on my machine?

Pat

Webmaster-Comment: ....Ms Pearson...I'm withdrawing from this time-zone debate.....lol.....Seoirse has promised to draw me a picture.....

CD's are universal ......can be played anywhere. The electrical current doesnt come into it....tho US is 110 and Europe 220/240. Though cd's are not effected.
On the other hand DVD's are a huge problem. One needs to have a "region-free" dvd player to avoid the pit-falls. These are available freely in Ireland at least and quite cheap. I do believe that this is not the case in the US.
Video is also a prob - two separate systems - Pal for Europe and NTSC for the US.

The answer is that the cd will play anywhere.....

But hey why dont you ppl listen to MY tenor.......go to.....well will continue in next post up....Slainte

I tell you, you need to use the chopstick method. Do not be deterred by sacred cows, or giraffes, or elephants. Watch out for those water buffaloes, though, they can be tricky. This method was taught to me by Mr. S, and it is infallible. It\'s called Chopstick Time. If it is midnight here, it is noon the next day in Beijing, China, and you add 2 hours to know what time Liz\'s kitchen clock says. Right, Liz? I know it works if you\'re in Florida, but if you are in Beijing, you\'re on your own.

Is there a contest going on, Webbie and Steph, the earliest riser in the A.M. being the winner? The only way I could be up at 4:30 in the morning would be to stay up all night. Can I win if I do that? Piece of cake for a night owl like me.

Information-gathering on the Guinness going well. I\'ve got a couple of weeks to continue researching.

See you all at a decent hour tomorrow. Take care.

Webmaster-Comment: .....gosh.....ya dont need to be believing everything Seoirse tells you........lorl. I'm trying to keep it simple....a lot of folks depend on the data supplied here.....lol.....and it could be the cause of a major disaster if we got it wrong....back to the drawing board....lorl

Steph has abandoned me after her first trip.....I think she is hanging out with the "others"....nudge..nudge...

Regarding the Guinness dont forget the straws...if the "head" goes flat you can blow bubbles into it which gives it that nice creamy look and save one of your straws to make the impression of a shamrock on the "head"......

Cya later.....

Liz, actually right now it is 4 pm in the afternoon here, and I noticed you just wrote, so I still have a while for bed, but one more hour for work.

It is 10 o\'clock in Dublin.

I have a friend her husband is from Aussie. I do remember people telling it is a sixteen hour flight. Yikes. But when DS starts will all be messed up again.

Well good morning all. And how is our lovely Webmaster. Did you bring your \"old cane\" to work today? hehehehe LOL

Mr. S. this is the math: If you take 2+8 you may get my age minus two. Now then you add 50 years to that and get the Webmasters age. I better start running, because you won\'t catch me.... heheheh.

Well Pat the sun rose about 7 AM here so Webmaster and I could call when the sun rises where we live. And just think I am still up when the sun rises where Liz lives. Which is about 15 - 16 hour difference. Scary huh.

Talk to ya later,

Webmaster-Comment: ....but you need to be careful how you pour cans - that is an art in itself.......you dont pour to the center....you tilt the glass and pour to the edge (right edge preferably) and you must pour slow. That way the Guinness retains its head. Also the glass must be dry to start with. Try some Dublin Bay prawns with it....lol

Hello Webbie: Hope allis well with you this fine brisk Sunday. Took the girls to mass already & am home prepping for a basketball game my oldest has. It is chilly here today, 8.6C, with winds. Almost looks like snow. We had over an inch of rain again Friday into Saturday. This has been the wettest year on record. Dub looks about the same as it is here today. I checked out all the cam sites and Dub really looks like a windbreaker is needed there as well. I hope that yours is a gr8 week Webbie, and a hello to our mrs pierson in florida as well. About 3 weeks til our election & I\'m still on the fence. We need more political parties here but the deck is stacked & our choices.....arrgghhh the frustration of it all. Ok Webbie, take care, God Bless, a gr8 week 2 all & cheers Gary D. in good ole\' Scranton, Pa.

Webmaster-Comment: ....Hi Gary....all ticking over well........things are a bit noisey with the diggers going from morning till night....but it's all in the casue of progress.

I still cant reason out the election.....and it gets more confusing the more one reads........I hope that the best one wins and guides America on a steady course.......

Hello...

About 10:15 Sunday morning in Tallahassee.

Liz, I\'ve got the time stuff clear, it\'s just after midnight Monday morning for you.

I\'m seeing a pile of dirt and paving slabs on CAM3 in front of Not To Worry store, and a yellow steam shovel in the lower left corner. What kind of trees are there? They don\'t seem to be losing their leaves for winter. I hope they don\'t take them down.

I need advice on what kind of Guinness (on the American market)to buy to take to a neighborhood party. There\'s a kind in tall bottles, & a canned variety that seems to have a gas included that makes a head when it\'s poured, & \"stout\" in a brown bottle. Maybe all three?

Gerry in Ontario and Mr. S. probably are the experts, and maybe Gary in Scranton? Anyone elso who wants to jump in with advice, please do.

WebMaster doesn\'t love us any more. A weekend off? What!!??? I\'m telling his boss, he\'ll be sorted out in a hurry.

Pat

Webmaster-Comment: ....Ms Pearson....unfortunately they are extending the waterworks and road resurfacing up Talbot St - that street goes up all the way to O'Connell St, which is the main st in the capitol.

I will have to check on the name of the trees but they are a fairly recent addition - well a few years.

I would say that gerry is the expert there ok. It seems that the can is supposed to ahve the same quality as the draught pint (from a barrel). Be prepared not to like Guinness first thing as you need to acquire/develop a taste for it. I drink lager in moderation but I'm gone too old for long sessions and of course I ahve to be in bed early to see the sun rising (in the morning)....lol

I was doing a Novena this weekend and praying for lost souls....lorl
