Happy Sunday Webbie:

Just clicked on the cams & soooo dark in Dub. Still sunny & beautiful here. Crisp at 5.5 c, with a slight breeze but gorgeous with the sun. Basketball games today at 2, 5 & 6 so it\'ll be a long day of ball bouncing. With the drop in the dollar, don\'t think I\'ll be getting back to Ireland just yet. I reckon it\'s going to get worse still in the coming months. Going to be interesting to see where the next 4 years take us here in the good ole USA. Take care Webbie, happy Monday\'s to us all. gary d. in good ole\' scranton, pa. YEW,S,A!

Webmaster-Comment: Hi Gary.......your hands are full with your backetball players. A beautiful hobby. Bet when they stop playing you will be like a duck out of water.....lol.

yep the dollar is drifting.......1.30 about now.....not good........thats about as bad as it has been.......A few years ago it was just over the 1.60 against the Irish punt.....well thats close to the present with the Euro........not a good climate unless ya ahve loads of those dollars........Slainte.

Hi there,

i\'m 24 ,graduated in PHYSICS from a wellknown university & living in IRAN.

i love Iran,it\'s a beautiful country with lots of ancient history.

BUT,our generation is suffering from many things (caused by GOV.)

we have no Right to claim about anything.

it is just because of this ... GOV. that it\'s IMPOSSIBLE for most of us to have any travel to other countries.

my aunts & uncles live in US but we can\'t go there & they can\'t come back to Iran.

I\'m married for about 2 years. my husband & I are thinking about immigration to other countries.

IRAN is destroyed by this ... GOV.

sometimes I really regret about you who live in a free country.

GOOD 4 U

Webmaster-Comment: Hi Sarah

Thanks for coming back and telling us. A difficult situation for you and your fellow country people. Iran has had a very troubled past history. We hope and pray for you that it will improve.

Hello, WebMaster...

A little rainy and chilly and damp here tonight, a good night to stay home.

Webbie, I wouldn\'t THINK of canonizing YOU. I can see that little red devil that sits on your left shoulder and knocks your halo crooked from time to time. I\'m a little witchy that way. It takes a rascal to know a rascal, right?

Sunshine will be back by noon tomorrow. Where IS our Liz? I hope she\'s recovered from her birthday.

As you always tell us, be gud, and I\'ll see you later.

Hello, Daryl from California...

What a sweet story. I can see how you\'d enjoy seeing the old place. Which building was it? We could ask Webbie to put up one of those little historical plaques on the building, or at least hang a wreath there from time to time.

We do our best to keep Webbie busy, to keep him from being out on the streets stealing hubcaps.

Slainte!

My friend Richard who works in Ireland just E-mailed me and asked if wanted to go to a Celtic game when I\'m in Scotland. The problem is the game is January 1st! Also it\'s against Livingston. My question is: Would you go the day after New Years? Don\'t answer just yet, HANGOVER? MAJOR HANGOVER? LIVINGSTON?

Good Morning, Webbie...

Re the content of this website, I think you do an excellent job of monitoring what is suitable and what gets blasted off. I appreciate it.

Nobody minds a funny little story, even if it is slightly naughty, but there\'s a line there that shouldn\'t be crossed, and you have a natural good taste that tells you where that line is.

Nobody minds a one-liner advertisement, either. I don\'t know how effective they are, or what readership they produce, but something like taking up half a page with an ad is just rude...maybe that one was an accident.

It\'s your site, you get to decide what stays and what goes. And I\'m sure it isn\'t easy, but thanks for doing that for us.

Pat

Stephanie -

Guestbook spamming (or promotion, depending on ones take on it)is a growing \"field\". You see, it\'s one of the ways to get quick, high rankings at Google (and other search engines). Especially when one targets sites that have high page ranks, like this one. It\'s also one of the few ways left to put advertising content on high-traffic sites without having to pay.

A lot of these posts, maybe most now, are made by bots - no human behind them. They just search for guestbooks and autosubmit. Looks like old \"hydro\" however, is a human doing it the old fashioned way. Bots don\'t make mistakes *l*.

There are nice ways of using guestbooks for promo - for instance actually looking for sites that have similar content (for instance webcams or irish music or travel sites). And there are the other kind.

Steph, it seems to me that anything anyone writes to this Guestbook in the way that we do shows up here. Webbie just deletes anything that is objectionable or in poor taste, which makes it like it never happened, unless you happen to get to it before Webbie does his daily (or more) clean up.

Missed your parade today. I wish I\'d known about it earlier in the day, I\'d have jumped back on to see it. Just got busy. I\'ve got a meeting to get to at 7:00. Got to go.

See ya.
