I really hate having to report this, but an anonymous weather reporter from Jax (his name is Mr. S.) needs to know that I saw the Channel 6 weather report at 8:30 this morning, and Jax reported 29F and Tally was at 33F. To quote the Three Stooges, \"Nyuh, nyuh, nyuh!\"

It is cold, though. I guess I\'ll have to break out a jacket to wear to go out today. Cat went out for a little while this morning, couldn\'t get back in fast enough. She stalked past me when I opened the door for her, and looked back over her shoulder at me, and growled \"RuRah!\". I think she is of the opinion that the cold is my fault, and her nasty remark was a cat swear word.

Have a good day, everybody.

Pat

No, Mr. S. It\'s as balmy as a soft Spring day over here. (Now I\'m getting to be as bad a liar as the WebMaster.)

Brought the flowering plants in from the deck, in case we might get a wee, little frost tonight or tomorrow night. Surely not as bad as it is over there, with those cold Atlantic winds blowing through old Jax. Brrr.

Webbie\'s gone again. If anybody sees him, tell him that I\'ll call a wildlife expert I know over at the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, and see if he has any ideas about those herring gulls. The mental picture of Webbie hopping around his yard, shooting a baby gull with a water pistol just kind of got to me. Horrible and hilarious at the same time.

Your owl suit is a good idea, Mr. S., but we also need to look for a long-term solution. Think!

Have a good tomorrow, everyone.

Pat

Ms Pat should be giving us a freezer report from the cold part of FL soon...

Good morning all. Well Webbie to bad you didn\'t have an office over in Wyoming. In the winter time you don\'t worry about much except for crazy drivers. We have crow here, but they fly north during the day and south at night around Riverton.

It would be bad of me to say give them seagulls something that wouldn\'t agree with them, wouldn\'t? Maybe buy a seagull spray like for bugs. lol. I guess you could where your Knight armor when you go on the roof, but I bet they have ruined alot of your equipment too. Here we deal with the wind. Well be careful.

Everyone else, Both Mikes, Brian, Pat, Liz, Joann, Seirose, and anyone else have a wonderful Tuesday. -Yep Pat I am done shopping for Christmas, except for the cards. I haven\'t even started.

My Goodness, Webbie...

I've just begun to realize that your seagull problem is serious, though you always joke about it. They have become a real problem in some UK cities, an old man died of a heart attack after being attacked by some, a dog died also after an attack, and children in schoolyards are being attacked. Seems they are moving inland where there is abundant food in trash in cities. Most aggressive around July, when they are protecting their nests and babies. Can't hurt them, as they are usually protected by wildlife laws.

They will return to a nesting site each year, unless it has been made unatractive or inaccessible to them. Try *********************************************

(continued)

We had a problem at our office building with birds flying at a window, and we hung a large plastic owl there. It did help. Try the big plastic balloon with the big scary eyes, and the metallic strips that blow in the wind, lash a frame made of pvc pipes (cheap, easy to cut to size, lots of fittings to turn corners, etc. light and durable, you just glue it together) and put chicken wire over your chimney. I\'ll check around to see if I can get any more info. You probably have thought of all this stuff yourself. I was thinking you\'d

given up and were considering them to be your friends, but you\'re infiltrating the seagull clan, and trying to think like a seagull now, aren\'t you? Ahah, the better to foil them! You are a wise and cunning Webbie!

Pat

Webmaster-Comment: .....the gulls are on an adjoining roof.......that is the main problem......and being serious for a minute....our prob with gulls and pigeons is that we have telecoms equipment at roof level - this is FSO equipment - laser stuff. Beams to another building 1 mile away......very narrow beam.....very expensive equipment......and very uncompromising gulls..........ehehehehhe. It has been a real problem......
have been down the road of various means of frightening those guys. They like their comfort and heat.....Their presence means we cant venture on the roof for the guts of 4/5 mths and we cant work that way. Two are needed for safety. But regularly you will actually feel the air-stream generated by the birds at the side of your head. And you can take it that that is a narrow miss.
These are the "Herring Gulls" and plenty about them on the net.
Infiltrating the "gulls".....well that is another story and for another day....ehehehehhe

Hehehe. Well webbie aren\'t I silly. I guess I try to avoid the subject of the Mother in Law aka MIL. Gee you had to remind me. Just joking. Had a good time. Went around tiny Riverton and looked at some stores. I don\'t need anything since I have you guys as my friends. What a lush?

Webbie what you need to do is cage those gulls find a nice spot up north in Ireland and let them go. But rememeber to blind fold them so they can\'t find there way back. That\'s my thought, but if they are your friends just don\'t make rats too, the combination might be scary.

Webmaster-Comment: ....lorl.......MIL's get a rough time from the DIL's....eheheheheheheheh.

There were two chicks in the nest this year. One managed to be a little over-enthusiastic about "take-off" and landed in our yard. That morning I was alerted to this fact by the uproar from the tribe. I had to take a decision on whether to take my anger out on the critter or help it - mind you it was as big as a full-grown domestic hen (the feathered type..eheheh). At the same time I was being attacked by the Squadron. I had bought a high powered water pistol....the pump-action type to protect myself on the roof. I decided I would help the chick with it's morning shower which eased my anger a little. Then being the good webbie that I am I got a large mail sack and protected my hands and caught the chick and threw it up on a flat roof - it took two attempts.
Will Ms chick think of this kind deed later.......you must be joking.....and ya'll think that I'm a cruel webbie........lorl.
