Patricia, that red neck might have been a relative of mine.My mother\'s maiden name was Saunders.Actually I think a long time ago it was Mac Sandair. At least the red neck was an Irishmen.I had family in Florida as a matter of fact I still do.

The weddings came, and sad to say/we left them one by one/To Cabra/Kilbarrack and to Germany/And the flats in Ballymun/Yet we never missed a Saturday just to take them for a jar/For that\'s the very least we owed the Ma\'sie and the Da/So the Autumn leaves fell down for both of them one day/They left behind them memories that will never fade away/They filled our lives with laughter/and God knows who they are/And he\'s bound to say\"well done to you\"/The Ma\'sie and the Da.

Webmaster-Comment: Here is the poem in one piece - it is superb.

We think of them a lot these days
the way things used to be
but things were so much different then
in the 1940''s you see
The war was on in Europe
There was ration books galore
And how they feared the Glimmerman
Knocking at the door!

The Da worked from early morn till late at night non stop
A half day on a Saturday
Then down Moore Street with Ma to shop
And Ma''s work was never done
She worked from morn till night
With scrubbing brush and washing board
''twas all an uphill fight.

They often wanted
The funds were often flat
Don''t ask me how they managed
God bless them both for that
The work was scarce around that time
and the Da joined the A.R.P
To brave the bombs on the North Strand
and terrible sights to see

The Ma-God be good to her
Stopped home and held the fort
She nursed his ills and paid the bills
0f every shape and sort
Later there were happier days
of picnics at Dollymount Strand
Lots of happy Christmases
with Christmas cake so grand.

Good day everyone! Pat & Linda great stories, something to brighten up anyone\'s day. Hi Webbie, I like the new saying on Cam 4 - WiFi. Well Sally, Gary, and everyone we have snow too, not bad like the East, but the roads are slick. I tried to put a bubble around my little green car, but couldn\'t drive. So now I\'m out there with all the trucks. I really don\'t want to work too. It is so nice when anyone can stay home and just watch the snow fall. Glad your back Ellen from the wedding. Charlie Hi to you, glad you checked in. Liz and James sweet dreams. I wonder if they are dreaming up some new kind of scheme for us.

Take care all

Love and Hugs,

Your Friend in Snowy Wyoming

Liz, go to bed and get your beauty sleep. I am glad you are better. Just don\'t overdo, now, and have a relapse.

Hello, everyone else, and Webbie. Good Morning, Steph. We\'ll probably close up the office a little early on Good Friday, but otherwise us heathens in the US will be working until then.

Got to go to the office now, as a matter of fact, so...

See Ya!

Funny story, Linda, about El Paso. Reputation for being a little rowdy? Here\'s a true story from the wilds of North Florida.

We have a local Redneck bad boy, Mark Saunders. Well, Mark caught a big old water turtle, about a foot in diameter, known for being a vicious critter, bad biters, and put him in the back of his brand new pickup truck. Somehow, he got the feeling that the turtle liked him, so he drove around to find his buddies to show them the turtle. He was standing in the bed of the pickup truck, and he said, “Look, he’ll even let me pet his head”, and he leaned down to pet the turtle’s little bald head, whereupon the turtle got a hold on Mark’s finger and wouldn’t let go. Mark was whirling around in the back of his truck, bleeding and yelling and swearing, with a big turtle hanging from his finger.

Well, finally the turtle let go, and Mark was so furious, he said, “I’m gonna shoot that Sumbitch”, so he pulled out his gun and shot the poor turtle, and also shot a number of holes in his pickup truck. One bullet went straight through the gas tank, and I’d love to say it sparked an explosion, it would make a better story, but it didn’t. Anyway, Mark had to be taken to the emergency room and almost lost a finger, and the wrecker had to tow away the truck.

Happy Easter to you all, from Florida Redneck country.
