No, Linda, it\'s not selfish. Just different. We had our ways, you have yours. It all works out in the end.

Good Morning, Everybody...

Took all my computer time this morning reading your posts recalling your youthful days, out and about in Dublin. It was different for Americans, the fashion was then to marry much younger, I was only 20 when I married, too young according to my parents, to young to vote, too young to drink legally, but I was a spoiled and headstrong girl. Had two babies by 22 (but then I found out what was causing that) and no time to be carousing. No regrets at all, I grew up with my children and wouldn\'t trade those years when they were little and I was home with them for anything. I\'ve had plenty of time since then to catch up on other things.

Well, got to go, you all be good today, we have a beautiful, sunny day here, will be above 80F. Hope it\'s nice where you are.

See Ya.

Hellloooooo!

Morning Everyone....G\'night Liz.

There are to many pages to catch up on.

Liz are you planning a trip to Dublin? I want the exact time to see you making out with Webbie on Cam 3. lol

My computer had to be temporarily moved to my 15 year old sons room. Not a great place for me to hang out so I\'ve missed so much here. I\'ll get it back in the office in a couple of days.

I miss you all!

i remember now. the signature tune was Hickory Hollers Tramp. Does anyone know who sang that?

I remember Ma Maher too. She wasn not a lady to be crossed. She\'d bar you as quick as she\'d look at you.

Webmaster-Comment:
You named that tune in one.....yes...that was it....and Ma Meagher ...yep yer right....if ya looked side-ways at her she could bar you....
O.C Smith recorded it amongst others....

Oh, The Path Was Deep And Wide
From Footsteps Leading To Our Cabin
Above The Door There Burned A Scarlet Lamp
And Late At Night A Hand Would Knock
And There Would Stand A Stranger
Yes, I'm The Son Of Hickory Holler's Tramp

Yeah, The Weeds Were High, The Corn Was Dry
When Daddy Took To Drinking
Him And Sally Walker, They Up And Ran Away
Then Momma Shed A Silent Tear
And Promised Fourteen Children
"i Swear You'll Never See A Hungry Day"

When Momma Sacrificed Her Pride
The Neighbours Started Talking
But We Were Much Too Young
To Understand The Things They Said
All We Really Cared About
Was Momma's Chicken Dumplings
And A Goodnight Kiss
Before We Went To Bed

Oh, You Know, The Path Was Deep And Wide
From Footsteps Leading To Our Cabin
Above The Door There Burned A Scarlet Lamp
And Late At Night A Hand Would Knock
And There Would Stand A Stranger
Yes, I'm The Son Of Hickory Holler's Tramp

When Daddy Left And Destitution
Came Upon Our Family
Not One Neighbour Volunteered
To Lend A Helping Hand
So Just Let 'em Gossip All They Want
She Loved Us, And She Raised Us
The Proof Is Standing Here
A Full Grown Man

Last Summer Momma Passed Away
And Left The Ones Who Loved Her
Each And Every One Is
More Than Grateful For Their Birth
And Each Sunday She Receives
A Big Bouquet Of Fourteen Roses
With A Card That Reads
'the Greatest Mom On Earth'

Oh, You Know, The Path Was Deep And Wide
From Footsteps Leading To Our Cabin
Above The Door There Burned A Scarlet Lamp
And Late At Night A Hand Would Knock
And There Would Stand A Stranger
Yes, I'm The Son Of Hickory Holler's Tramp
