That is quite wonderful about Mark Westlake\'s pics, Webbie, and a well-deserved honor.

Will somebody tell us how to go view them on our own screens, please?

No new pic on CAM 5? Bummer. My life is ruined.

Nice pic of Arlington that\'s still there, Mr. Richnavsky. That is a sacred and beautiful place. Thank you.

I\'ll be back later.

Well, it is almost the weekend. I have to go over to the next county tomorrow, there is a big festival at Wakulla Springs and my organization will have a table there to promote conservation issues in Florida and I have to man it in the afternoon. Or will that be womaning it? Lots of crafts and festival food and music and exhibits and kids running around with painted faces and running into people you haven\'t seen for ages, I really enjoy those events. You can google \"Wakulla Springs\", it is a first magnitude spring, and pretty interesting itself.

OK, I\'m off to do some of the work that\'s waiting for me, I hope you all have a nice weekend.

Treasa, it is really a strange and somehow disquieting thing to watch when part of your house gets dismantled around you. Aren\'t you lucky to have such a good crew doing it, that kind of care on a job is practically unheard of these days. Did you take any photos of the work in progress? Did you find any old coins or anything interesting in the walls? Hurry up with the rest of the story!

Mornin\'...

Beautiful, sunny day here after several days of gloom and thunderstorms. We have local flooding, and some roads are closed, not to mention power outages for 8000 last night, but down to about 3000 this morning. I had flickering lights yesterday, and mostly kept things unplugged because of the electical storms, didn\'t really know how bad it was locally until this morning. Especially since I never actually lost electricity when this county is usually the worst in the state for having that happen. At any rate, nobody has been hurt, thank God, and I don\'t have to go into town today. That\'s good because one of my main routes of travel is closed for several miles, with a downed tree wrapped with electric lines across it. Unfortunately, that doesn\'t mean I have no work to be done!

Treasa, I like your chimney story and it seems you had the right touch with your builders... AND you chose the right time to do it. It\'s nice to hear you had a longer period of sunshine and so I hope the rain will leave you soon again.

Have a nice Friday all. I have to go to work in an hour and don\'t want to. The sun and my garden are luring... *sigh*

Hi to everyone, hope you are all well.

Webbie, I was trying to open Mark\'s \'beautiful Sunday\', a few pages back, but it wouldn\'t open for me.......

I\'ll keep trying.

Take care everyone, catch you all later.

Not sure what the problem might be Treasa but it may be the size of the file (24.6 MB). We can test that theory. The first video below is 10 MB smaller. And the second is the one which wont load for you. Let me know how it goes.

When they knocked the old chimney, the rubble was taken out through the roof, and was not just thrown in a pile in the yard.... no sir, it was piled neatly on a sheet of ply, to wait for removal, and when it was removed, the yard was swept clean so not even a pebble remained.

They had to knock off the finished wall in the hallway of the house (because the dampness had come down there), and finish it in the new. Well, when I got home from work, the hallway was swept clean, and apart from the obvious dust which was inevitable, and the lovely new section of finished wall, you would not know anything had taken place. They are what is known in Irish terms as \'tasty workers\'.

Yes Patricia, the chimney saga has a good ending. Thing is, when you start a job it leads on to other jobs... and now the whole house has to be repainted...

The builders who came to our rescue are 4 brothers each of whom has a different trade, and each of them is a master of his trade. They have been working together for over 30 years, initially with their father who was also a builder. They just work so well together and compliment each other fully.

SEAN, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Ohhh, Mick, what a nice poem. I love my sparrows and I always feed them in winter. So I have them around the whole year. I was out and looked for their nests and as usually they build them on pretty dangerous places. One is in the gutter and will be washed out with the next heavy rain. There is a second one under the roof top that will stay a bit longer. But there is also a blackbird that is keen on that place and often clears all the twigs to build an own nest there.

Phone is ringing...

song for Annette

Ain\'t it a shame sparrers can\'t sing

Think of the joy sparrers might bring

But all they can do is fly in the sky

And fly, and fly, and fly

Ain\'t it a shame kisses can\'t fly

There\'d be no more kisses goodbye

But all I can do is lie here and sigh

And cry, and cry, and cry

The charms \'e had were well and truly hidden

It ain\'t just what \'e did, it\'s what \'e didn\'t

\'E didn\'t say, \"Dear, you\'re divine\"

Nor did \'e say, \"Darling, be mine\"

So why do I see in \'im everything

Well, sparrers, poor sparrers, pretty sparrers can\'t sing

Happy Birthday Sean

As Annette says \"YIPPEE IT\"S SPRING\" only 3-4\" of new snow over night. Does anyone on here know of any parts jobs open around the Panama Canal, Bermuda or the Sahara Desert, anywhere that it never snows.

Treasa-We had a chimney fire in our old house in Idaho, the night of the Firemans Ball, there was about $300.00 fire damage. But $8,000. total repairs after several of the volunteer fire dept, all drunk, chopped holes all over the roof.

Thank you Dee Langevin, for that lovely CAM 5 shot from St. Michaels on the Eastern Shore of the beautiful Chesapeake. That\'s the homeland of my father\'s father\'s fathers for centuries, and those waters must run with the blood in my veins.

Treasa, does the Saga of the Phoenix Chimney end with a proper new fireplace in the old room? It is always an adventure to take your house apart.

It is kind of gloomy here this morning...no sun, but I hope our rains are over. Poor Meises, I think you are the last of the GB Mohicans here re getting some signs of Spring (except for Mies\'s romantic-minded little birds, and they\'re not green). But then, maybe it will seem even more wonderful when it finally comes to you. I hope so.

April is Mother Nature\'s gift to us all, I see you are enjoying it, Annette.

I\'m off for another cup of coffee, and to start the day. Take Care, Y\'all.
