song for Annette

Ain\'t it a shame sparrers can\'t sing

Think of the joy sparrers might bring

But all they can do is fly in the sky

And fly, and fly, and fly

Ain\'t it a shame kisses can\'t fly

There\'d be no more kisses goodbye

But all I can do is lie here and sigh

And cry, and cry, and cry

The charms \'e had were well and truly hidden

It ain\'t just what \'e did, it\'s what \'e didn\'t

\'E didn\'t say, \"Dear, you\'re divine\"

Nor did \'e say, \"Darling, be mine\"

So why do I see in \'im everything

Well, sparrers, poor sparrers, pretty sparrers can\'t sing

Happy Birthday Sean

As Annette says \"YIPPEE IT\"S SPRING\" only 3-4\" of new snow over night. Does anyone on here know of any parts jobs open around the Panama Canal, Bermuda or the Sahara Desert, anywhere that it never snows.

Treasa-We had a chimney fire in our old house in Idaho, the night of the Firemans Ball, there was about $300.00 fire damage. But $8,000. total repairs after several of the volunteer fire dept, all drunk, chopped holes all over the roof.

Thank you Dee Langevin, for that lovely CAM 5 shot from St. Michaels on the Eastern Shore of the beautiful Chesapeake. That\'s the homeland of my father\'s father\'s fathers for centuries, and those waters must run with the blood in my veins.

Treasa, does the Saga of the Phoenix Chimney end with a proper new fireplace in the old room? It is always an adventure to take your house apart.

It is kind of gloomy here this morning...no sun, but I hope our rains are over. Poor Meises, I think you are the last of the GB Mohicans here re getting some signs of Spring (except for Mies\'s romantic-minded little birds, and they\'re not green). But then, maybe it will seem even more wonderful when it finally comes to you. I hope so.

April is Mother Nature\'s gift to us all, I see you are enjoying it, Annette.

I\'m off for another cup of coffee, and to start the day. Take Care, Y\'all.

Yippeeee, spring is here, spring is here. The sun is shining, temperatures will be up to 68F this afternoon and forecasters say the coming weekend will be as in midsummer. I can look out straight to my terrace and see that the sparrows are plucking and pulling on my plants that still have some old sprigs/halms (?). And a whole bunch is fighting about them. So, I\'m out now and will look where they build their nests.

See you this evening.

Then the builders built up the chimney again, and the engineers came from the broadband servers, and the multi channel TV and re connected all the appliances back up, and once again Treasa was in contact with her many friends all over the world (after she had cleaned the tons of dust and rubble that came with the renovation).

As the years went on the old chimney got more and more damp (it must have been caused by the incessant rain in the country where Treasa lives!!!!), and it started to decay and crumble until one day Treasa’s Boss said ‘Treasa, we have to knock that chimney and rebuild it’. Treasa knew that the time was coming for this big task, but she was trying to put it off as long as she could….. But the day arrived, and the builders came and knocked the old chimney, (which housed Treasa’s broadband receiver, and antenna for multi channel TV, and other things….. )’

Well the story goes like this….

Once upon a time at Chez Treasa there was a chimney fire (which was not caused by Treasa loading too much turf on the fire during a severe cold snap!!!!).

Anyway the fire brigade had to come to put out the fire, and afterwards on inspection it was found that the chimney was badly cracked (both flue liner and block). It was still usable but would have to be repaired at some stage. Over the years a new extension was built onto Chez Treasa, and a new chimney and fireplace was built and the new building became the main living area of the house. The old living room was given second grading and was fitted with an electric fire and the chimney was not used.

Morning everyone,

Beautiful morning here with spring really in the air.

Mr. Mies, I can\'t believe it is still snowing there.....

Your winter seems to have gone on for ever... I wish you warm sunshine and a beautiful summer.

We had THE BEST weather here during the chimney episode. If you have to rip open your roof you need to know that you are going to have fine weather for it.. and my goodness it was like mid summer for the week that work was in progress.

By the way.... Part one of the chimney saga coming up..

Welcome back Treasa, great to have you back.

Great picture on CAM5 today Dee Langevin, a co-workers brother lives just north of St. Michaels on Chesapeake Bay.

It snowed here again all afternoon, a customer called this morning & last year he was done seeding by April 1st. Today the ground was still frozen to solid to plant. I think this winter will last forever. Yesterday we had snow, rain, hail, thunder, lightening & sunshine. I guess it proves the old saying, \"If you don\'t like our weather, wait 5 minutes it\'ll change.\"

Mornin\'...

Ah, Treasa, doesn\'t it make you mad when you lose a post you\'ve typed and typed and typed in? I hate that.

Webbie, thank you for tracking the Cormac articles. I really like his pieces, I learn more about Ireland from reading his stories of places and people than I do any other way, I think. He has a way of saying something very simple that seems not to mean very much at first glance, but it really is the most important thing in the tale. Excellent writer.

Raining buckets here, we have a flash flood watch through tomorrrow in the area. I won\'t take the back roads into Tallahassee today, but I\'ve got to go after I check out the cleeks, which look very good. Have a nice week, Everybody.

Bye!

Pat

Aaww FIDDLESTICKS,

I just lost a lovely long post, and don\'t have time to write it again......

Not a good start to Fool\'s Day is it???

I missed everyone very much and am glad to be back. I will tell you all the stories over the next few days. Also have loads of mails to open, and see some of them have the \'Spring in my village\' theme. Looking forward to that.

Got to go now.

Catch you all later.
