Hi, Ellen, haven\'t seen the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City, but hear it is beautiful. Their temple in Washington DC is fabulous.

Do you know the history of the Mormons? Very interesting. They do have an extensive library of genealogical materials, I think it is one of the tenents of their faith to look up their ancestors and record them. You can get a computer disk sent to your local Mormon Church library for study. It is a good source to start with, but I always document my information with direct proofs from the original source as well, then I know it\'s correct, and it\'s a thrill to actually see your great-great grandfather\'s signature on an old deed.

Its a popular hobby now, many old church records and county land records, etc. are being put up on the internet. Makes it easier.

I liked your pic of the Cliffs of Moher. Awesome place. I bought a blackthorn stick there years ago, it still hangs on my bedroom wall.

Wards off snakes, I was told.

Goodness, Marie! It seemed to me a few pages back that you all were talking about his being with his mother. I guess I mis-read it? Hope so, a deceased gentleman isn\'t suitable for our Liz, at all, at all. Find us a live one.

Liz, I like Plan B! When do you want to do it?

Hi, Gary D and Mike CA. Sure, Mike, I love webcams. I\'ll watch for the card. Where\'s the San Juan Capistrano pic? Is Webbie going to put it up? Gary D, do you have any pics of floods or snows there that you could send to Webbie?

Marie, surely Phil\'s mother knows where he is. If you can find his mother, you got him!

See y\'all!

Hello everyone,

It\'s cold, wet and raining here in Dublin. We are just home from Church.Maybe while I was there I should have prayed for the return of the Prodigal Phil!

I agree with Pat that the black Gospel singers are something special.

I heard the Mormon Tabernacle Choir rehearse one time. Well, it wasn\'t the complete choir but most of them were there. They were singing other songs too apart from Hymns. One of the songs I remember them singing was \"On A Clear Day,When You Rise And Look Around You\". It was lovely. That was way back in 1978 and I was in Temple Square in Salt Lake City.

I saw a special on US Public TV last evening, Ireland\'s Daniel O\'Donnell doing religious music. Taped in Dublin at the Helix? Phoenix? theatre, couldn\'t catch the name.

Enjoyed it, lovely music, enjoyable whether you are religious or not. Very ecumenical, he sang all kinds of songs, a lovely rendition of \"Lady of Knock\", but his voice just is not up to the American Gospel and Spiritual pieces, though he was wise enough to have 4 black singers back-up. He just doesn\'t have the timbre, the richness in his voice for it...though I would rather have heard the songs than not to have heard them. Tom Jones at his rompin\', stompin best might have pulled it off.

If anyone wants to hear incredible music, then come to the American South and stand outside an African American church on a Sunday morning, or a Wednesday evening. It will bring tears to your eyes. Mormon Tabernacle Chior can\'t touch it.

End of Travelogue for the day!

Pat

Kukkaburro sits in the old gum tree-ee,

Merry, merry King of the bush is he-ee,

Laugh, Kukkaburro, laugh, Kukkaburro,

How gay your life must be.

I sang that song as a child, in Girl Scout Camp, my children sang at camp too. I imagine little kids the world over sing it. (Now, try to get it out of your mind for the rest of the day!)

Hehehehehe.

Mike from Oz, you haven\'t been on here for awhile, what is happening is that Liz, who lives in Australia as you know, is trying to get in touch with an old friend who still lives in Ireland, her Irish cousins have been looking for him for weeks, and we have been having such adventures with an inch high private eye, and there may be a phone call today that brings them together.

That\'s the garbled best I can do at the moment to explain what\'s happening.

How are you, anyway? I asked Liz, but she didn\'t tell me, do you have Jacaranda trees in Australia?

Pat
