Dubh-Linn meaning Dark Pool or Black Pool, Later spelt Dublin, settled by the Vikings.

My Dublin Mate on hopildays here was wearing a Dublin shirt, Baile ata cliath, he asked me what does it mean, i said,[ Home on the ford] oh he said, i taught it meant Dublin City. Dubh meaning black, Dublin is now the capitol city of Nigaria. Sign in a Dublin Street, Dubh fir ag obair, ha ha ha. Take me back to the fifties Liz.

Elvis he was all shook up.

The platters, sang only you.

Freddy Bell had his ding dong.

And Carl Perkins, his suade shoes of blue.

Latest bulletin:

Well this evening I put on me galoshes cos it was raining and headed for the good ol\'Horse & Hound. I found a Phil Donoghue there alright, but he was one of the barmen who works there! That must have been why they told you to call back, Elizabeth.

So anyway. This quest is talking longer than I hoped so tonight I took on two assistants, one of who actually knew the Donogue family and the O\'Brien family that Phil married into!. So now three of us are on the job.

The work continues......

Hi, Ellen, haven\'t seen the Mormon Temple in Salt Lake City, but hear it is beautiful. Their temple in Washington DC is fabulous.

Do you know the history of the Mormons? Very interesting. They do have an extensive library of genealogical materials, I think it is one of the tenents of their faith to look up their ancestors and record them. You can get a computer disk sent to your local Mormon Church library for study. It is a good source to start with, but I always document my information with direct proofs from the original source as well, then I know it\'s correct, and it\'s a thrill to actually see your great-great grandfather\'s signature on an old deed.

Its a popular hobby now, many old church records and county land records, etc. are being put up on the internet. Makes it easier.

I liked your pic of the Cliffs of Moher. Awesome place. I bought a blackthorn stick there years ago, it still hangs on my bedroom wall.

Wards off snakes, I was told.
