Ellen, Liz has my e-mail address, I am sure she will send it to you, and Liz, would you be good enough to send me Ellen\'s, so I can watch for her message to come through to me, as I have a filter that doesn\'t allow e-mails from an unknown sender to come through unless I specifically allow it. I used to post my e-mail up on this site, but I think now that isn\'t the best practice. I will watch for your e-mail Ellen.

No, I don\'t know Linda, except for a couple of e-mail exchanges, as I mentioned. However, I do have her e-mail, Inch, and I will pass on your message.

Where is Zardoz??!!! I\'ve had a hard day, and I need him to get on here and tell me I\'m his favorite lady, because I always want him to have his beer. Big Z?

Liz I think the barracks you mean is Collins. That barracks is now a museum. The garrison were all moved to McKee which is even nearer to the park, the back gate actually leads out into the park beside the Garda Depot.

Pat...thanks for your concern. Can you give me your email address? Only if you want to.

Liz...I had a lovely day. I met up with my friend Therese. Colin spent all afternoon building a fence out in the back garden and it looks lovely. I bet he\'ll be sore tomorrow though because he worked hard.

Laura went to a birthday party today. It was a sumo(sp?) wrestling party. They hire these sumo wrestling costumes!

I also had a good chat on the phone with Sara. She\'s doing well.

Hi Ellen. 10 feet away? Perhaps you mean the Army Barracks? But that wasn\'t a large building. It was at one time maybe, but at the time I speak of it was already being demolished because it had been condemned as being unfit for human habitation. Then when the troubles started the authorities moved in pre-fabs to house the soldiers that were drafted in, mostly from Dublin based units. My business did have something to do with that.

Thanks for the note, Ellen. I am having a terrible time on the Net today, I keep falling off into cyberspace. I need a new server, or a new computer. Couldn\'t possibly be the operator.

To you and Marie, I am so sorry to hear about the little one in your family. I have buried my share of parents and older brothers, and I\'m one tough cookie, but I\'ve always known that to lose a child would be more than I could take. It would simply do me in. My heart goes out to your family. Does that baby want any American toy or doll that you can\'t find there? Tell me, and I will send it.

Hi Patricia. You are in touch with Linda? Would you please ask her to come back? Please tell her that Inch High is a huge fan of hers and I\'d love to see her posting here again. Please sent her my warmest wishes. Somehow it wouldn\'t be quite the same here without her.

Can you think of any other ones? About 10 feet away from Shevlins? Opposite Shevlins? Did your \"business\" involve that building?

Hi Ellen. You want to see if you can find out who I am? That\'s easy. I\'m the super-hero known the world over as Inch High Private Eye.

There were a few large buildings around Shevlin\'s. One that comes to mind was a coal merchant but I can\'t recall the name of the business. It was in the lane beside Shevlin\'s pub.

Marie...

Things happen. I have no doubt about your sincerely wanting to help Linda, and that was kind. You are right, sometimes just talking is helpful. But she couldn\'t tell you what was wrong, because there wasn\'t anything in particular, so she didn\'t know how to answer, which made you mad. A classic case of talking at cross purposes. If it hadn\'t resulted in hurt feelings on both sides, it would have been hilariously funny. Like \"Who\'s on first?\"

Over now, done. I will not mention it again. You forget it, too.

Hello, Liz...

How are you doing?

I\'m over my mad now, and I am sure everyone regrets that it happened. I felt particularly bad, because Linda had e-mailed me several times over the last few months, saying she posted on the site from time to time under different names, both she and her husband, (many people do that)but was too shy to get on as herself, though she liked everyone there very much. I told her to just jump in and chatter around with the rest of us, but when she did it didn\'t turn out well.

cont.

I am breaking a confidence, as I told her I wouldn\'t mention that she and I had talked, and just let her come in when she felt like it. I suspected she was Back Seat, but I did\'nt know until a day or two ago. She\'s a nice normal person, very intelligent and a good conversationalist. I think we would have enjoyed her company, and she ours. It\'s now too late. Just wanted you all to know my part of that story. It\'s a good lesson to all of us to be careful what we say.
