Hello blokes

Another spiffing sunshiney day here and all the girls in their summer finery - YAHOOO.

Why don\'t we celebrate St George\'s day en masse with marching bands and ballyhoo?

A question I have pondered often and don\'t have a ready answer.

Without wanting to be controversial, I think it\'s partly because we seem to have lost our national identity and fear offending people from other countries who have settled here - and I am not being racist.

You only have to look at the way our troops are treated, even jeered at in the streets, on returning from active service.

Sad, but there are still plenty of old codgers like me who will fly their flag with pride and toast the dragon with a pint of real English ale.

Hi Webbie, great cleeks, love the Sean Nos dancing and singing. I don\'t know why, but everytime I see Irish dancing or hear Irish singing my heart seems to lift. I hope it does that for everyone.

Micilin, we entrust you with the slaying of the dragons (in England that is - not that there are any anywhere else) Geez, I think I might be putting my feet in it here!!

I\'d better go to work before I do damage.

Hi Steph, good luch with exams, Liz, glad Reghan is heading back to school, Mr. Mies, don\'t forget your licence next time, Annette keep the frost of those plants, Patricia, I don\'t mind doing the big shop, I hate storing it away when I get home..... Mar, lovely pictures of Barcelona, thank you.

Take care everyone, catch you all later.

Just taking a breather here, I just got back from shopping in one town, and have to go to another in the other direction.

Don\'t tell Mies I said that about Auntie Dragon. She\'ll kill me. I don\'t think she\'s really like a dragon. Well, maybe a just a small dragon.

Now I\'m really runnin\'.

That was so nice to hear all the people speaking Irish. Thanks, Webbie, for the cleeks. The performances were great, too.

That\'s funny, Pat, \"Uncle George and the Dragon\". There is a similar couple in our neighbourhood... I will remember your advice with the newspapers when the frost comes in May. I have some special pieces of material to cover some plants but I always need more of them.

So far, just sunshine and blue sky. Perhaps the frost period will be missed this year.

Hey, Micilin...why no parties in the pubs? I thought St. George and the Dragon were patron saints of England, don\'t y\'all celebrate their day?

I had an elderly uncle and auntie, he named George and very mild mannered, and she a Doris and a terror, so of course, they were called \"Uncle St. George and the Dragon\". Just our way of paying respect to English tradition.

Nice cleeks, Webbie. Very Irish. Treasa, thank you for reminding him about the cleeks. I am afraid he is getting very forgetful which could be expected at the age of 98, but never mind, we\'ll help him along.

Liz, any thing new about our Reghan\'s health? We don\'t want that sweetie to be under the weather.

I\'m off to town to rip through the big grocery supermarket, got my list ready and everything. See Ya!

Spiffing weather here too don\'t you know.

Lots of pics from Mar on the email - beach looks a bit too crowded for me.

Some great funnies from Mike too.

St George\'s Day on Thursday and I\'ll be flying the flag, but there won\'t be any parties in the pubs.

Pat-I\'ve heard that the bass like the garlic flavor worms. It\'s not the best choice for walleyes though. I\'ll stick to a piece of nightcrawler or a Berkley Gulp minnow or floating leech.

Ah, the Grand Canyon on CAM 5, it is a wonder. Thanks, Debi Crews.

Hey, Mr. Mies, does anybody out there fish with garlic juice injected gummy worms? My son-in-law was talking about it, he fishes mostly for largemouth bass and he wants to try it, says he hears the fish love it. Sounds weird to me, but fishermen will try anything they hear about, won\'t they?

Hope Y\'all have a good week.

Nice pictures on CAM5 the last few days, I never had a chance to look at them until today.

A nice day here today, a little overcast, but pleasant. I worked on the stage most of the day, it has to be ready in 2 weeks & needed a few repairs, a design change or 2, & some cleaning. Caleb pitched in & we got most of it done.

Annette-I gave the fish a chance, but taught Mike a new presentation to use & it worked very good for him. We were just practicing catch & release anyway.
