Before I go, I just want to wish all the students the very best.

Junior and Leaving Certificate exams start today.

Big day for students hoping to enter college in the Autumn.

By the way, thanks Webbie for the summer cleeks. Nice to hear Bagatelle again. Where are they now?

On the run.......

Morning everyone,

Everywhere is magical when the sun shines.....

Yesterday I sat out in the garden and just listened to the sounds. \'The Boss\'s\' niece runs a pre-school creche just accross the road, and it was lovely to listen to the children having fun. Their voices and shrieks sounded muffled in the glorious sunshine and heat. The cuckoo called all day in the upper meadow, and the garden birds sang until their hearts burst. The gurgling of the garden fountain in \'Ken\'s Korner\', gave a kind of peace to the brain, and the heart lifted a little bit from it\'s poll of sadness.

More of the same today. Hope everyone else is having lovely weather also. Liz, I see you are having rain.... Hope it won\'t last too long.

Everyone else, take care, stay safe and catch you all later.

Morning everyone,

Summer stays with us, it is wonderful. Yesterday we got 27 degrees, and still the breeze had a lovely cool edge to it. Perfect!!!!

Today will be the same - have to work for half day, but then I\'m free.....

The heat has melted Webbies Cams 1 and 2..... No picture from them.

Patricia I feel useless reading about your fruit and vegs. I have absolutely nothing growing..... that\'s because we have had such bad weather for the past few years, it was impossible to grow anything....

Hi Mar, Liz, Mike (your school is out early, don\'t close until the last day of June here), Micilin (love the \'Lane Poem\'. It really describes the lane and how it changes through the year).

Anyway off to work with me, take care everyone, and catch you all later.

Treasa.

Hello everybody, I expected to have time today to \"talk\" to you all, but I\'ve spent too much time answering mails, and now I have to go to bed, I hope I\'ll be writing here tomorrow, ok? Everything is ok here, the sun is shining and it\'s warmer every day, it\'s a bit windy in the beach, but it\'s easy to stand it, I hope you\'re all ok and enjoying too. Take care and have fun!

Lovely spot pictured on CAM 5 today, Dee Langevin. The exact thing that is meant by the words \"lush and verdant.\" Thank you. Nice poem to go with it too, Micilin.

Mike CA, you just have probably won the Great $64 Tomato Race 2009. I just accidentally broke the stem off my tomato that had the blossoms on it. Bummer. I was late this year, anyway. My son-in-law was just here to check out my pump box with the hara-kiri ants, and he says he has got really big tomatoes already, though they are still green. I may have to go over there and swipe a few, I\'m getting a hankering for that old Southern treat, fried green tomatoes.

However, my blueberries are coming in nicely, I have a few to munch on on the desk before me, and it looks like a bumper crop. And I\'ve got a big old fig tree just loaded with little figs. I don\'t really like them, but I need some goood recipes to make some things with them.

I\'m off back outdoors, it is a lovely day here, 93F and sunny. Y\'all be good.

The Lane

Some day, I think, there will be people enough

In Froxfield to pick all the blackberries

Out of the hedges of Green Lane, the straight

Broad lane where now September hides herself

In bracken and blackberry, harebell and dwarf gorse.

To-day, where yesterday a hundred sheep

Were nibbling, halcyon bells shake to the sway

Of waters that no vessel ever sailed ...

It is a kind of spring: the chaffinch tries

His song. For heat it is like summer too.

This might be winter\'s quiet. While the glint

Of hollies dark in the swollen hedges lasts -

One mile - and those bells ring, little I know

Or heed if time be still the same, until

The lane ends and once more all is the same.

Hello chaps

OOPS looks like I might have misled y\'all - sorry. I don\'t actually leave for Bonny Scotland until June 20.

Mr Mies - YIKES rattlers in the workplace. Blimey, the only venemous reptile we have is the adder/viper and they are only fatal to the very young, very old or very sick.

They are also extremely shy and avoid human contact.

There is a small colony on heathland near my home, but are rarely seen.

Treasa - Looks like we are still sharing the same glorious weather.

Hip, Hip, Horray, the summer came,

And stayed for more than just a day.

Morning everyone,

I had really forgotten just how beautiful an Irish Summer\'s day is. Saturday was just beautiful with just a few clouds, but yesterday was magnificent.....

Wall to wall blue skies, light breezes, 25 degrees, and daylight all night in the northern sky. It was so beautiful. We had breakfast on the patio, lunch on the patio, and dinner on the patio. Last summer we couldn\'t even put the patio furniture out. Today is going to be 26 degrees. Our cousins from Tampa are astounded.... they didn\'t even bring a pair of shorts with them, as they expected the usual rain and cold.....

I can\'t remember having days like these since childhood, or at least since my childrens\' childhood.

So hi to everyone, and take care, I am off for another day outdoors, and some sun soaking.

Love

Treasa.
Patricia

Thank you, Maria Asuncion. Sorry your computer isn\'t working well, but I hope you are fine, yourself.

Though I couldn\'t get the location right, this is the one I was talking about. I\'ve seen several pictures of it, and to me it is very beautiful. I\'ll try to google a site that shows a picture.

\"Abengoa Solar has brought its massive PS20 solar tower in Seville, Spain online. The 20-megawatt plant is the largest of its kind in the world, delivering electricity to 10,000 homes. The development is yet another example of Spain’s growing influence in the solar sector — which now extends as far as the American southwest.

Cont.

The tower architecture that defines the PS20 plant is still fairly unique. This particular plant is 541 feet tall (about 54 stories if you picture it as a building), and uses 1,255 mirrors to laser focus sunlight to boil water, create steam and turn a turbine. Abengoa already has a similar, 10-megawatt tower in operation, and another 20-megawatt tower in the works. All of these structures are part of the envisioned Solucar complex slated to produce 300 megawatts by 2013. One megawatt of energy is enough to power about 800 households — and that’s a conservative estimate. All told, Solucar would deliver electricity to 240,000 homes.\"

Well I\'m off to bed. Tried studying today, but didn\'t get much done. I had to take an afternoon nap. Pat, that\'s horrible about the mercury levels. We have high levels of some chemicals naturally found in nature that humans can not control. What I don\'t like about the windfarms is that they destroy the nature scenery. Soon they will fill the Mountains in the west. So much for the frontier! I too rather have solar power than the windfarms at least they don\'t take up that much space. I have strong opinions about that too!

Well Liz, have a happy winter! The Wind River is at the flood stage right now the National Weather Service has said, plus we are finally getting some rain this week. Should help my garden unless all the pollutants are in the air from surrounding states mix with the rain and clouds.

Goodnight hugs,
