Whatho you blokes

New addition to the King tribe yesterday. My nephew\'s wife gave birth to a bouncing baby boy.

Liz my lover - I see that nasty Gordon Ramsey has been upsetting the Sheilas - can\'t stand the yoke, feed him to the sharks.

Treasa - Childhood summers when the sun shone everyday and the air smelled of new mown hay. We swam in the rivers and ran wild in the woods and computers were science fiction.

Today, it\'s raining again.

Maria Asuncion, hope you have a lovely day, and thanks to Patricia for reminding us.

Webbie, I enjoyed the Beatles cleeks, go raibh maith agat.

I suppose because we lived that era, I had forgotten just how much hysteria they created....

Hi to Mar, Mike and everyone else on the GB.

I\'m off to work now, so stay safe and take care. Catch you all later.

Hi Liz, hope you are well, also Reghan and Sean. Hope your weather is improved.

Micilin, we used to chant that Ladybird song all the time. Funny, I hadn\'t seen a ladybird for years, until a few weeks ago I saw one on the patio. Brought back childhood memories. I have seen a few more since then, so I hope it means they will bring back childhood summers...

Patricia, Ladybug, that\'s a nice pet name.... I know what you mean about being home before the children... I also made a point of always being home before they came from school, and I still can recall a lot of those afternoons, and the stories they would tell, and the time we shared...

Morning everyone,

Nice bright morning again, but we have had some heavy rain over the past few days.

Mr. Mies & Mies, I hope you had a lovely 44th anniversary, and hope Mies is feeling better, and Mr.Mies knee is on the mend.

Annette, hope Roberts concert went well. I remember last year you recorded his practicing on purevoice and mailed it to us.... I enjoyed that.

Stephanie, sounds like you have troublesome weather there also. Hope your partner\'s doctors appointment went well.

Storm blowing in from the East but the clouds are from the West, not good. Liz, we have to shoot the weeds, they came from distant lands, and not original from this area. They are killing the local plants by strangling them out. They aren\'t very pretty. See I even have my cowboy slang goin\' on here. Too much in the country. Great photo Mark! Pat, I love butterflies, but no one calls me that. They just call me irony ever since I was a teenager.

Well off to bed and study a little. Started taking photos today too!

Love and Hugs,

Steph

THE TRAIL OF THE LONESOME PINE

Recorded by Hal \"Lone\" Pine and his Mountaineers with Betty Cody

Writers: MacDonald and Carroll

CHORUS

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia

On the trail of the lonesome Pine

In the pale moonshine our hearts entwine

Where you carved your name and I carved mine.

Oh, you - like the mountains are blue

Like the pine - I am lonesome for you

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia

On the trail of the lonesome Pine.

On a mountain in Virginia stands a lonesome Pine

Just below is the little cabin home of a little girl of mine

Her name is June and very, very soon she\'ll belong to me

For I know she\'s waiting there for me \'neath that lone Pine tree.

Pretty shot on CAM 5, Mark Westlake. There\'s a song with the line \"on the Trail of the Lonesome Pine\" but I can\'t remember the rest of it. Maybe if I hum the melody it will come back to me. That will keep me busy for a while.

Maria Asuncion, my dear, I think today is a special day for you.

I hope you have a lovely day.

Ha, Steph, you get a real feeling of power with your finger on that trigger, isn\'t that so? \"Take this, you dirty weed!\" Hehehehehe.

Micilin, we say:

\"Ladybug,ladybug, fly away home, your house is on fire and your children will burn\".

Close enough, but we don\'t mention Ann.

I used to be called the Ladybug when I was a young mother. Some of us played bridge in the afternoons, and I always had to leave a hand for somebody else to play out in order to get home before my children arrived home from school. I didn\'t like them to come home to an empty house. Many\'s the time I rushed out with that chant going. One of my old friends from that time would call me up sometimes over the years and distance, and I always knew who it was when she said \"Hello, Ladybug\". She passed away about a year ago. I still use a ladybug as an insignia on some of the little drawings I do. I like ladybugs anyway, even apart from being one. They are helpful bugs in the garden.

Hello All! Yes, I am home early today. My partner had a doctor\'s appointment.

Webbie, but it\'s fun shooting those weeds. I get to hold the weed gun! I feel special.

Mick, I\'ve heard of that little chant. I think they are teaching that one still in schools. Which reminds me, I better work now. I have a class due this Friday!

Hello chaps

Patricia - Here\'s little ditty we chanted as children while a ladybird perched on the end of a finger.

Ladybird ladybird fly away home,

Your house in on fire and your children are gone,

All except one and that\'s little Ann,

For she crept under the frying pan.

I\'ve been so busy the last week that I forgot to update you all on the dove that nested in our cutting edges. She laid 2 eggs & both hatched but only 1 chick survived. Mike S. did a series on his blog with the pictures & videos if you are interested.

Great video from Mark Westlake again. Thanks Mark & Webbie.

Nice ladybug pic on CAM 5, Kirsten Kjaer. Do you call them ladybird bugs, Micilin?

Glad you are home safe, Mr. Mies. With you limping and Mies sniffling, you probably had better have some rest.

I have been having problems with my internet server being down off and on today. If I can\'t get back to chat in the next few days, you will know why. I thought my modem had quit on me, but now I\'m pretty sure it is the server.

I am collecting a nice number of Mark Westlake videos on my desktop. I love \'em, and listen to them all the time.

We got home last evening about 8:30, safe & sound. Well maybe not so sound Mies isn\'t feeling to good, maybe caught a flu bug & I smacked my knee pretty good Saturday. I may need Liz to come & fix it again. We have had rain off & on since Friday evening, but it looks like it will clear before I go home.

Webbie-Don\'t believe those women about the stones, I have several that my Grandmother borrowed from everywhere she travelled & they have been relocated in 3 states. Kind of like witness protection for rocks.

Hello Mick and all the other GBers...

I was out in my garden the whole afternoon and enjoyed the sun. Now I\'m tired but can\'t go to bed yet as Robert is still practising the clarinet. There will be a concert of the orchestra of his music school tomorrow evening together with the big orchestra of our opera house. Perhaps, some of you can remember that I once told you about the last concert. The closer the date comes the more Robert practises. There will be a dress rehearsal tomorrow in the morning and the big concert in the evening. So, I won\'t be here tomorrow as I have to whooooooooosh to the opera house after work. But that\'s something that I can do very well, you know it.

I\'m not a thief, Webbie. I just borrow the stones from some places to move them to another place, namely, my garden. That means, nature got them back and nothing happened. hehehehe

Hello chaps

Wild sort of day today with great black clouds roiling about the sky and the wind ripping through the trees.

Great slideshow from Mark.

Seamus would soon spoil the peace and quiet of that sandy cove.

Like a bit of fish meself, but gotta say I prefer cod or Scottish haddock to fancy fins like red snapper.

I feel sorry for the old boats in Mark Westlake\'s video. Once they were pretty and did their work and supported families and now they rot in the water. What a pitty. The video is great. Thanks Mark and Webbie. ...and now I\'m searching for the place where that heart-shaped stone lies...
