Ah, some of the lovely architectural details of Middletown, Delaware are on CAM 5 today. Thank you, Dee Langevin. Those old towns have the prettiest buildings. Nice pink dogwood tree, too.

Enjoy your long weekend, Liz. I hope Everybody else is enjoying their weekend, too.

I was reliably informed Patricia that the snails climb up the lampposts to avail of the morning sea dew.The posts themselves retain the solar heat which evaporates the dew but the glass shades dont. These posts are right by the sea front and are covered in dew for a few hours every morning early.

Damn, the weather is rotten here. There\'s been nothing but rain and storms for several days, and several more days like that are forecast, too. I\'m getting cranky, a couple of dreary days will make me go into a real decline. I\'m used to the sun. Bummer.

I\'ve gotta go, there are things I must do today, mostly dumb housework stuff. Oh, bitch, bitch, bitch.

See ya.

Why, Mr. Mies. I know that fishermen are prone to lying about the size of the fish they caught, but now you are telling us that they lie about other things as well. I\'m shocked. What\'s the world coming to? If you can\'t trust a fisherman, who can you trust?

Boxty, Webbie? Traditional Irish dish? Looks like a good recipe, thank you for that. Looks like a good way to use up last night\'s leftover mashed potatoes. We have \"hash browned\" potatoes for breakfast sometimes, they start with cubed, cooked potatoes and get gussied up with whatever you have on hand, onions usually, sometimes chives and shredded cooked corned beef, and sauteed loose almost like scrambling an egg, or sometimes formed into a patty with a little egg as a binder and fried up crispy to serve with eggs at breakfast. I\'ll try the boxty. Thanks for the recipe.

Mornin\'...

I like that pic on CAM 5 today, S. O\'Muiri. When you see something like that you just have to wonder what those snails think they\'re doing. What attracts them? Maybe it\'s like mountain climbing for people, didn\'t somebody famously say they did it because \"it was there?\"

Reminds me of the idiot suicidal hara-kiri ants that fill up my pump electrical switch box and die and interfere with the electrical contacts there...but someone told me that a moth ball in the box will deter them. I\'m trying it.

Work has been very busy, it\'s finally looking like a normal summer. The 3 days I was in Lewiston I barely put the phone down. I\'m glad, maybe things will get back to normal.

On my way home Monday evening I went through a blizzard of cottonwood tree fuzz. It was blowing across the highway for 1/2 mile, just like blowing snow, it was almost zero visibility. I\'ve never seen it that bad. I feel sorry for anyone in that area with allergy\'s.

Mies says Hi to everyone & hopes to be back soon. Things should settling down now.

We are in Moses Lake, the stage is set-up & all is ready for tomorrow mornings meeting at 6am. It\'s about 90F here & a very dry heat. Our motel has wireless internet & air conditioning so I\'m happy. They had a very strong thunder storm move through last night & the forecast for tomorrow is a little better than was expected. Everyone says the fishing has been slow, but they will all lie the day before a tournament. Half of them will fish the same place, the same lure & still swear they are using something else. Believe me there are no secrets. If they tell you they are going north you better go south if you want to see them.

Poor Mick, you must be really tired. Our election will be on Sunday and there will also be local elections. Then, in August, there will be elections of our state parliament and in September elections for the whole country (\'Bundestag\'). Pretty many elections in one year.

Mr Mies, I hope you are having a great weekend. Mies wasn\'t on here. I hope she is well and was just busy with the preparations of the trip. And I hope the weather will be better for you than you thought. Perhaps Caleb doesn\'t have to wait too long. All the best for him.

Webbie\'s recipe sounds good. We have something similar here but I like trying something new. ...for the next best opportunity.

We will travel to friends in Berlin tomorrow morning and come back on Saturday afternoon. So, have a nice weekend all and be good while I\'m away.

Hello again, everything calmed down after the president left us in the late afternoon. The helicopters were flying over us to the airport when I was out in the garden and I took a photo. The TV news were full of reports about his stops and I have never seen our area in TV so often. Great visit.

Hello chaps from a very weary micilin.

Covered the local election count and it didn\'t finish until 5am today so I\'m a little bit cream crackered.

Treasa - Yep, wet, windy and cool forcast for the weekend.

Patricia - Funny you should say that about hugging. Saucy Sally on reception says I\'m the best hugger in the world and I sure ain\'t gonna stop trying to prove it. She is one fit bird.

Anyone know a surefire cure for mouth ulcers - I\'ve got a cracker.

Hope y\'all have a great weekend.

OK, I\'m off to bake a cake so I have a treat for visitors over the weekend. Nothing fancy, trust me, I\'m not much of a baker and don\'t spend hours putting decorations on desserts though I admire anyone who has the patience and talent for that and enjoy the results very much, it\'s an art. I have learned some quick and super easy recipes that turn out an acceptable sweet when necessary, but that\'s all I am ever going to be able to manage. I can live with that, I make up for it in other ways.

Gotta go. Y\'all have a nice weekend. Take Care!

Annette, how nice that Obama will see the Frauenkirsche. I found that building and its history so interesting when we were talking about it on here. It is sad that security for people like that has to be so tight. But it is wise, there are too many fanatics in the world today. At least, you will see him on the TV news broadcasts.

Obama has been a phenomenon here, seems to be succeeding in carrying out his campaign promises all at the same time and more quickly than anyone could have expected. Nobody could ask for more. He seems to have the best and the brightest most progressive people around him, they all hit the ground running. He\'s hugely popular, and is really shaking up government. I hope he continues to shine on us for the next 8 years.

Mornin\'...

Glad you are feeling better, Liz.

Dreary, rainy morning here, and will be the same for the entire weekend. Thunderstorms, sometimes. Just read this morning that a small tornado touched down for about 30 seconds and tore part of the roof of of a school in Tallahassee mid-day yesterday. No students were there, school is out, only a couple of teachers. Nobody was hurt. Now the question is \"How could 65mph hour winds damage a newly built supposedly reinforced roof of a designated hurricane shelter building?\" I think some heads will roll.

I hate this weather. I\'ll be stuck indoors all weekend.

Good morning, Treasa. Good morning, everyone. Bright sunny morning here. Still a bit cold but beautiful. The right weather for president Obama\'s visit in our area this afternoon. He stayed in Dresden overnight and is visiting the \'Frauenkirche\' (that was on the Cam a while ago) this morning and in the afternoon he will be near here (15 miles away) for a visit. He will probably land on our airport in Erfurt but nobody tells anything and the streets and places and large areas are closed. So, I\'m afraid no man in the street will see him, just the \'official\' persons. It\'s too sad...

I wasn\'t much around the computer the last days. There was too much work to do and in my free time I had to go out in the garden. It is so beautiful now with all the flowers and the fresh green. I had to cut the hedge and I\'m always a bit sad when all the leaves fall down.

I will take a bit time to read back some posts.

Back later...

Morning everyone,

Still really nice weather here. A little breezy this morning and rain promised, but we have had a most beautiful week, and sure we need a little rain after all the heat....... I think!!!!

Thanks for the \'Danny Boy\' cleek Webbie, really moving. Patricia, I believe us ladies should have a weep when we want to, without people telling us not to cry......

And we feel better afterwards....

Mr. Mies, I wish Caleb all the best in his future career.

Time moves on, and in the blink of an eye, our babies become adults, and we have to love them enough to let them go..... It hurts though....

Micilin, I think the girls will be covering up for the next few days, temperatures are dropping sharply. It will give your eyes a chance to recover for when the warm weather comes again .hehehehe.

Btw, I loved your poem for the POD on 3rd June.

Off to work with me now. Stay well everyone, catch you all later.

Treasa.

Well Caleb passed the physical & all the tests with flying colors. Now it\'s a waiting game until there is an opening in the school they want him to go to. It could be a few weeks or even months. Right now he wants to go into air traffic control, but we\'ll see where they want him to go.

We\'re off tomorrow for our 3rd tournament. This time at Moses Lake & the weather looks like it is taking a turn for the worse. Winds are predicted in the 20 MPH range for the next couple of days.

Aaaaah, that\'s bittersweet to see them walk away, isn\'t it Mr. Mies? And for Mies, too. But that\'s what they are supposed to do. God Bless him.

Webbie, I think I\'ll give the Riverdance thing a miss. Haven\'t got the hair for it anymore, or the strength to do that non-stop stompin\'. But, maybe with a big, curly hairpiece and some mega-doses of vitamins....Naaah, thanks for the tissue, but I\'ll just sit and weep.

Micilin, you aren\'t a geezer yet. Trust me, I know about geezers. I work with them all the time. Geezers have nothing to do except spend time playing checkers at the Senior Center. Geezers are great huggers, though, they are always very glad to see you. I love my Geezers.

I\'m off to have a late lunch. Y\'all be good.
