Eamon, sounds like you\'ve been through the mill with all the house repairs. Nothing worse than leaks, they cause so much damage.

Mar great to see you back from hols also. I got your card from New York... be there myself in a few weeks.

Hi Maria, Pat, Liz, Stephanie (where are you?) Webbie, Mies and everyone I forgot to mention.

Got to run.....

Catch you all later.

Morning everyone. A mix of weather here over the weekend, lots of showers and some sunshine, but rather warm.

It\'s been busy here over the weekend, with everyone dropping in to say hello. Hope all our US friends had a great holiday, and enjoyed family get togethers.

Mr. Mies, sounds like you had a bad tumble, hope everything is better now.

Hi Micilin, glad to see you back from the hols, of course we missed you but we knew you were enjoying yourself. Going back to work after hols always reminds me of going back to school after the summer.

Hi everybody and thanks Patricia, Treasa, The Mieses, Elizabeth, Mar and all who sent the kind birthday wishes last week. I have been away for a break following a nightmare 5 months with the aftermath of leak damage which required major repairs, Insurance negotiations (grr), plastering, plumbing, electrics etc together with having to find alternate accomodation in a cold freezing house for over 2 months. However it is nearly all over and I have managed to keep just ahead of the garden. Worst of all was having no computer/internet. Enough of my ramblings, what is new with you all? Haven\'t had time yet to go back over GB to keep up but Im sure Webbie has been keeping you in your places!! Nice to see all your names again.

--> I had a great time in NY (I already sent you all some pictures and explanations) and a peaceful resting week in León, though full of visits to family and friends, I even saw my friend’s baby for the first time (so cute!) and I could say “goodbye” to my sister’s female dog, who finally died last Thursday (she was too old and ill, so even though it was too sad to lose her, she’s having a deserved and peaceful rest now). Apart from this, I keep being busy in the office, in the gym and with friends, specially now in the hot and sunny summer, anyonr missing to sweat all day long, just come here!

María, I hope you’ll be able to meet the Annettes, their plane will leave from Santander (I don’t know the exact date), so maybe there’s a chance you’ll be able yo meet, let us know about it when you can, please!

Webbie, Liz, Treasa, Jim, Séan, Dermot, Eamon, I hope you and the American people had all a great time in the last weeks, I don’t know if there’s been some important changes in your lifes lately, I hope I’ll learn about it soon. I just can tell you that my life keeps being busy but peaceful as always: -->

To Pat, the Mieses, Steph, the Mikes, Sue, Gary and all the American people, I hope you had a great 4th of July yesterday, how I wish I’d been in NY watching the fireworks by my beloved Statue of Liberty!

Annette told me she’s having a great time in Asturias, I tried to meet her the last weekend I was in León (her first weekend in Spain), but it was impossible because of my family duties, too sad, it’d have been great to meet her in the region where I was born, but at least I know she’s visiting wonderful places and she told me she and her family are having a great time

So as you say, I hope I’ll update my info soon, and I also hope I’ll send some of the best pictures of the “Big Apple” for Webbie’s consideration (thanks for the quote, Mick), and I’m glad to know you and Seamus had a great time in Scotland, I hope I’ll see some of your pictures soon

Whatho chaps

I\'m back from the land of the rampant haggis

Didja miss me?

Gotta lotta catching up to do, but I just thought I\'d have a peek at the GB to let you know I was home safe and sound.

Took loads of pics and when I get them sorted I\'ll post some to webbie for his consideration.

Eastern Scotland scenery is not so dramatic as the west, but there were some nice quiet beaches and forest walks and the dogs had a great time.

Seamus is a super swimmer for a small pooch and loves the sea.

Lots to see and do and there were many times I found myself thinking, Pat, Treasa, Mar, Liz, the Mieses, Annette, Stephanie, Mark and the rest of my GB muckers would love this.

Not looking forward to going back to work tomorrow, but needs must and gotta start saving for the next expedition.

Catch ya later alligator

Whoops I forgot a few smilies. Here they are. you can place them where needed.

I like the bike picture on CAM5 & no Mies can\'t have any more of those rocks. The bike looks a little like mine after a small indecent on Thursday. I got to close to a curb & ended up laying on the sidewalk with a split lip, scrapped & bruised elbow, & a large patch of skin missing from a knee. Oh well 1 more scar on these legs won\'t even be noticed. I don\'t think it will be bad enough to need Liz to come fix it.

We are enjoying a peaceful day here also. We went to Two Rivers last night for their fireworks display. It was amazing as it is on a point where the Spokane River enters the Columbia River. We were at our friends, Tom & Jacki\'s lot, where they are building a house later this summer, overlooking the river. There were 100\'s of boats all anchored below us, The view was very spectacular & the fireworks were wonderful. Lots of large aerial displays & then smaller bursts from some of the boats. Until the Rangers could get to them & try to maintain some sense of safety. Watching all the boats move off after it finished was amazing, all the red lights going south & green going north. It started at 10pm & lasted about an hour, then ice cream cake for desert & a 1 & 1/2 hour 70 mile drive home. We got here about 1am & are still resting today.

Beautiful day, here, our weather has cooled off to normal. Everybody is laid out flat, recovering from Independence Day celebrations.

It would be nice if Maria Asuncion and the Annettes can find each other. Good Luck.

Mies, did you notice the big rocks in the pic on CAM 5 today, with the rusty bike? You and Annette will be coveting them. Are there any rocks around Santander for Annette to nick on this trip? Lovely picture, love the sunflowers, so cozy.

Liz, it is very good of you and Webbie to be praying for us. Errrrrr, keep it just to praying, or you will upset the rest of Webbie\'s girlers.

Mar is back home and recovering, maybe we\'ll hear from her this evening.

Im out of here to do my Sunday, Y\'all be good.

Mornin\'...

Holy Mackerel, Guys. Sarah Palin is again loose upon the land. She will not serve her last 18 months as Governor of Alaska, she says she is ready to do bigger and more important things. This is very alarming.

It is not that I don\'t respect the views of conservatives. Though I am a flaming liberal myself, I do. They may be right, and at any rate, have a right to think in any way they choose.

It is not that I think a woman has a place she should stay in, or that her intellect and abilities are any less than a man\'s. There are hundreds of women on the political scene right now who are the equal of any male polititian, and I say it\'s about time they are given credit.

Cont.

It\'s that Sarah Palin is half-baked, hasn\'t paid her dues on the national scene, does not have a grip on world affairs, and the scariest thing is that she doesn\'t know it, and possesses that incredible conviction of the true evangelistic...that the Lord will guide her and wouldn\'t let her do or think anything wrong, and that\'s all she needs to know.

The Republicans had better be looking around for a better candidate for 2012. Sarah Palin scares the bejabbers out of me.

Holy Mackerel.

I\'m very sorry I have been a long time not connecting the internet, and I didn\'t see you were so kind as to wish me a happy birthday. Patricia sent me a e-mail asking me for news. So I must offer my excuses to you all and thank you very very much.

I\'m going to Santanser in a short time. As you know, Cantabria is the province. Cantabria is next to Asturias, where Annette and family are spending their holidays. I will try to meet them some way or other.

Hugs

María

Pat-That\'s about as close as I can describe them, like the Amish, with all the latest technology. They run the newest tractors with GPS navigation, the latest model trucks & combines. They raise some conventional crops & lots of organic crops. There are several different colony\'s around here & in Northern Montana & Alberta. They eat in a community hall & all the men eat at the tables & are served by the women, who eat in the kitchen. Lunches are a feast everyday with roast beef, goose, fried chicken & all the trimmings.

Well I\'m of to work, I have a logger needs to move his skidder & the exhaust system fell apart. He keeds to move logs tomorrow, after not working for 8 months he\'s anxious to get a paycheck coming in.
