I\'m very sorry I have been a long time not connecting the internet, and I didn\'t see you were so kind as to wish me a happy birthday. Patricia sent me a e-mail asking me for news. So I must offer my excuses to you all and thank you very very much.

I\'m going to Santanser in a short time. As you know, Cantabria is the province. Cantabria is next to Asturias, where Annette and family are spending their holidays. I will try to meet them some way or other.

Hugs

María

Maria, Im hope you enjoy your stay in Santanser. Do not worry too much if the meeting is not possible as I am certain the Annettes will understand.
Good health and enjoy yourself.

Pat-That\'s about as close as I can describe them, like the Amish, with all the latest technology. They run the newest tractors with GPS navigation, the latest model trucks & combines. They raise some conventional crops & lots of organic crops. There are several different colony\'s around here & in Northern Montana & Alberta. They eat in a community hall & all the men eat at the tables & are served by the women, who eat in the kitchen. Lunches are a feast everyday with roast beef, goose, fried chicken & all the trimmings.

Well I\'m of to work, I have a logger needs to move his skidder & the exhaust system fell apart. He keeds to move logs tomorrow, after not working for 8 months he\'s anxious to get a paycheck coming in.

Who are the Huttarians, Mr Mies? Are they like the Amish? The Amish are great farmers, and great cooks. They have always had booths at the Farmers Markets in Baltimore where you could buy lovely salads with colliflower and broccoli and pies and fresh veggies. There aren\'t any around here, though, and I just can\'t duplicate that salad, though I get to craving it sometimes and try over and over again. They sell Silver Queen corn, best in the world for corn-on-the-cob. Great time of year for fresh veggies, I had some crookneck squash in Thomasville a week or so ago, cooked in the microwave with onions, Jeez, it was to die for. I\'m going to try it, if it is good, I\'ll tell you how to do it.

I\'m off to make some cole slaw to take to a cook out this afternoon. Happy July 4th!

Happy Independence Day to all Americans, no matter where you are! Don\'t forget to eat a hot dog, even if it gives you a tummy ache later, that\'s what I do.

Key Lime is my Granddaughter Lauren\'s favorite, too, Mr. Mies. Actually, I can\'t tell the difference between Key Limes and ordinary limes in a pie, and the Key Limes are so tiny that you are squeezing limes and squeezing limes to make something with them, so I usually substitute others, and call it Key Lime whatever.

Happy 4th of July

Pat-Thanks Key Lime is my favorite, our daughter made me a Key Lime pie for fathers day.

Webbie-Sorry to hear about the flooding, glad everything is OK now. We live on the crest of a hill & it slopes down in both directions. If we ever get flooding the rest of the town will need an Ark.

We were closed yesterday, sort of, I had to get a water pump for a truck & by the time I got to the store there were 4 more people waiting to get parts. Then we had to go back in the afternoon & get a turbocharger for the Hutterian Colony to keep digging potatoes so we can have potato salad for our BBQ. They raise the best potatoes, onions, & sweet corn & bring in truck loads to sell at the farmers markets.Sometimes they stop & sell to us fresh from the field. They make a very good Blackberry wine too.

It\'s Independence Day here tomorrow, actually today, as it is after midnight. Many people had a holiday from work today, because there is always one to celebrate that and this year it falls on a Saturday.

So, I wish all Yanks a Happy July 4th, and hope you enjoy your picnics and fireworks.

We had a big storm last night, too, electric went off just as we were sitting down to eat. Luckily, all the food was already cooked, so we ate by kerosene lamps and candlelight. I saved Mr. Mies a piece of the Key Lime squares, they\'re very good, have an animal cracker crust instead of graham cracker, lime zest and cream cheese in the filling, and toasted coconut sprinkled on top. Yum.

I lost my internet service last night during the storm, and my phone was out as well. That has happened several times lately, I think it might have to do with a merger that is happening between my server and a company they have acquired. I lose my internet connection from time to time, but my land line phone hasn\'t ever been dead...something is different. I had to call my land line from my cell phone to get on the net again. I know that\'s what worked, because I watched the little lights on my modem come on while the phone was ringing. An electrician needs to figure that one out.

Hey, Guys, it looks like the weather has been causing some problems, I\'m glad you are all straightened out, Webbie. I believe you have had problems with a flooded basement once before, that might be a little dangerous with electrical equipment there. Madam Woo says to let Zardoz step barefooted into any standing water first, and if he doesn\'t begin to glow all green and his hair doesn\'t stand straight up and throw off sparks, it is probably safe for you to go ahead and wade in to fix whatever is wrong. Madam Woo says \"You\'re welcome\".

Hiya...Geez, it\'s been a zoo here lately, just getting settled from coming back from tourney and now the 4th celebrations.... Mr. M is on call but after a BBQ with our daughter, her hubby, & Caleb we hope to go to Two Rivers to watch fireworks.

Lordy Webbie, what a disaster. Thank Gawd there was not more loss than that.

Treasa was the guy pushing the cart on cam 1 crying \"Cockles And Mussels, Alive alive Oh!\"?. That was the first thing that came to my screwy mind

Steph, enjoy your trip to Colorado...

Liz, will there be a Jack 3 appearing next???

Hello Mar, thanks for the post cards and photos from NY...

Pat, Key Lime is Mr. M\'s favorite. Hint, hint hint...

Be good ya all..Have a good one

Hi I\'m back again.

Just had a look at the cams and saw Mark\'s beautiful study of Garnish Island. Garnish is a most wonderful place to visit, the gardens are wonderful, and the peace and tranquility cannot be found anywhere else. I am going to re-visit during the summer and am looking forward to it.

By the way, I saw a guy on Cam 1 pushing a shopping trolley past O\'Shea\'s. I switched to Cam3 to see him going down Talbot Street past the Singer and Not To Worry shops. Strange... pushing an empty shopping trolley through the streets of Dublin.

Anyway I\'m off now, ..........

Morning all, nice bright summer morning here, warm sunshine, though some showers predicted.

Webbie, thank goodness that more harm was not done. It is frightening to think what might have happened. I know it would have been a huge upheavel for your internet business, but we would not be able to survive without the GB. The force of flood waters is scary, and the damage done can be catastrophic. Anyway thankfully all is well. The prayers paid off...... We will do a Novena in thanks..

I can\'t believe it is the weekend again. Where does the week go?

Take care everyone, and stay safe. catch you all later.

Treasa.

Treasa read the situation correctly re the floods and the site here. We were off from around 5am to 11am GMT approx. Basement flooded and ground floor. Drain covers in the basement shooshed up in the air and carried away 10 feet while at the same time the basement flooding was supplemented by the floods on the ground floor via the stairway.

Thankfully we escaped with only losing our UPS - enough of a loss for us though.

Our luck has a lot to do with the our Prayer Group and the time spent in the Pro led by Liz. So dont anyone tell us there is no God.

Seriously, it was bad enough and for once I thought it was the end of our internet end of business. We soldier on for another while though, as long as Liz keeps praying.....lorl
