Morning everyone,

Miserable grey morning here with pouring rain... Much like last year again.....though I see the sun is blazing down on the streets of Dublin. Love the pic on Cam5, wish I was there so I could buy one of the beautiful looking wicker baskets...

Webbie, thanks for putting that report up on cleek... Amazing really what people will read into things.

Take care everyone and stay safe. Looks like I will get soaked going from the house to the car.......

Catch you all later.

Treasa.

We have the craziest situation her at the moment in a little village called Rathkeale, just a few miles from my home village.....

Workmen were cutting down an old tree in the cemetary there, and lo and behold when it was felled there was an impression of the Virgin Mary with baby Jesus in her arms... or so some people say.

************************************************* />
Have a look at the link above to check it out.

It has cuased a big stir here and people are flocking to the site to pray. The Priest in the parish says you can't pray to a tree stump, so does that mean people can't pray to a statue either???

I guess in times of recession people will always grasp at straws to tide them over....

Stop press....stop press.....

Just heard that Phil and Fionnula Funagin were seen heading into the forest at Athea some hours ago..... No news of their re-emergence yet.....

Hi everyone, nice bright Sunday after a most horrendous Saturday of endless rain and grey skies. Had a busy week at work, but things should be calmer this week.

Good going, Steph, to be completing your course. I\'m sure you have a nice feeling of accomplishment, and that everyone is very proud of you. I am.

Mike, do you watch the Public Broadcasting programs on TV? They are on regular channels, no cable. There\'s nothing else worth watching these days. I remember when TV was a great medium, do you remember the good variety shows and drama we used to have on the networks? Now it\'s all crime shows and stupid sit-coms that you just waste your time on. I watch the news and PBS, and that\'s about it.

I\'ve got to go. I hear Ms. Cat in the other room, pushing everything off my desk on to the floor so she can sleep there, papers and paperweight and the stapler and a little bowl of paperclips that will take 15 minutes for me to pick up. Jeez, she\'s a terrible cat.

Bye.

I spent several happy hours yesterday using a computer drawing and design program that a friend sent me.

I\'m planning a recycling center for my deck, with separate bins for trash, plastics, glass, and metal cans. I won\'t have a big old trash can sitting on my deck, I keep one down the steps and around a corner as they aren\'t very decorative, but the bin I am planning will have a lid covered with real tin roofing that looks like a shed tin roof, and the front will be painted with a tromp l\'oil picture of a chicken and chicks and eggs like a chicken coop, behind real chicken wire. That will be so cute, with a place for all the recyclables, it can sit right on my deck outside the kitchen door and will be much more convenient. Now I\'ll just have to get around to building it. Might even put a bin in there with a place to store my gardening gloves and clippers and the watering can I use for my deck plants. How convenient.

Micilin, I just read the Observer, and saw the pic of the man and the 62 pound catfish. I was going to say \"Holy Mackerel\", but \"Holy Catfish\" is probably better. Mr. Mies needs to see that. By the way, nice to see you back, welcome home.

I see you have a new store that sounds like our Dollar Stores, where everything is $1. They have discontinued lines and end-of-lots and left-overs from store closings, great stuff for $1. I buy all my paint brushes there, I hate to clean up brushes and I can throw those away with a clear conscience after I use them. You can go there and spend $10 and come home really happy. I love those stores. Some of the merchandise is cheaply made and will break, but some of it is very good.

Mornin\'...

Holy Mackerel. I don\'t know why I\'m awake this early, the sun is just now coming up and I am usually snoozing away at this time of day.

That is a nice plant on CAM5, Liz. We have lots of hibiscus in Florida, all different kinds and colors. Cold-tender, but even if they get killed back to the ground, they will mostly come up again from the roots, if it wasn\'t a really hard freeze. Later, when it grows bigger, you can take cuttings about 8/10 inches, take the leaves off the bottom 4 inches and stick them in pots in sandy dirt, keep them in shade and moist, and they will root and make new plants. You can dip the bottom in rooting hormone, but most people don\'t bother to do that with hibiscus, they root very easily. Have fun.

Nice rose on CAM5 today. THANKS Liz.

My company got me a video camera for my 35th anniversary at work. It has 60X optical & 2000X digital zoom, now I can annoy Mies from a long ways away. It\'s a Sony Handycam & will almost fit in my pocket. It takes still pictures or video. I can\'t wait for our fall elk trip.

Morning All, Nice bright, very warm day here today. High 80\'sF, but a front moving in tomorrow for a couple of days. It will be a nice break.

Yesterday I worked a parking lot sale at a local sporting goods store. It\'s owned by a large Irish family & very proud of their heritage. John Conely, the patriarch, told me he has 11 kids & 56 grandkids & is still going strong at 92. He is always handing out Irish & American flag pins for your caps or lapels. We had 3 of our fully rigged tournament boats on display & gave seminars on walleye fishing & talked about our upcoming tournament. It was a nice break from work, but I\'m back at my desk today.

I hope evryone has a great weekend.

Mornin\'...

Good Night, Liz. Yep, very quiet around here. We need some news on the Phil front to perk things up, or at least some cleeks to look at.

The little kitty on CAM 5 looks very sweet, Copyright 2009 Worldlink, but looks can be deceiving. My Ms. Cat looks sweet, too, but she is a holy terror, and I\'ve got the scars to prove it. I think she\'s got a psychological problem about being an orange cat when black ones are the favorites around here, but she won\'t let me dye her black, so I can\'t help her.

The CAMs are particularly clear and sharp today, Webbie. Did you wash your windows? Or maybe it\'s because I wiped down my computer screen. Whatever.

And I\'ve got the hated Saturday housecleaning chores ahead of me, so I\'m out of here. Y\'all have a nice weekend.
