Good morning, Europe. Good morning, world. I\'m up since six and was already busy. In half an hour I will leave for my parents and spend the day there.

Liz, I\'m glad your washing machine arrived. You are a tough cookie. You gave the man of the firm a good kick in the pants. hehehehe ...it worked...

Hello Treasa, have a nice day. Hope the sun will stay a little longer.

To all I missed... ...see you this evening.

Webbie, I never washed and sang in the canal, but I did scrub on the washing board, with the \'carbolic\' or \'sunlight\' soap. And believe you me, the fingers often bled. Say a prayer for us at the Novena, and mind yourself at the forty foot...

Off to work with me.

Stay safe everyone and catch you all later...

Treasa.

Summer is gone... Alas it didn\'t last long - or was it here at all?? We are facing into our last holiday weekend before winter, and the forecast is for wind and rain.....

Anyway, rushing as usual.

Liz glad your washing machine arrived.

Mr. Mies and Mar nice to see you both back here again.

Steph looks like your rain arrived at last. I sent it a few weeks ago from here...

Patricia, hope you still have summer there... Hi to Ms cat.

Annette, thanks for the pics of the holidays, you must have had a lovely time with Maria.

Beautiful \'Eamon\' pic on cam5 today really stunning...

Hi to Micilin, Mike, and everyone else I may have forgotten..

Morning everyone,

Just had a quick look through the posts, but didn\'t get to read them fully.

Strange weather here, as I write the sun is shining beautifully, but the rain is hopping off the roof windows, and I can see the water from the water pipe is rushing so hard that it is overshooting the drain and gushing accross the footpath.... Quiet nippy this morning also. Took Val for a walk and got soaked through to the skin.....

Mar, we saw the ad in TV for the Springsteen concerts when we were in Spain. I was so sad that they only started after our holidays. Enjoy the concert and have a nice time.

Too late for me now for more responds. Tomorrow....

Hello everyone, I just read back the posts (there were a lot) and I can\'t respond to all now. But one...

Pat, I talked to Maria A. in English when we met. I learned some Spanish words and short sentences before holidays but we spoke English. It was a very funny bunch of people when we had dinner together. We occupied a long table in a restaurant. At one end of the table sat Mr A and Maria\'s cousin next to him and her niece with her children opposite him. Maria\'s cousin speaks a little German and her niece a little English. So, Mr A was pretty busy to entertain the ladies in an English-Spanish-German-mishmash. But they laughed a lot and that means they had a nice time. At the other end of the table sat the husband and the son of Maria\'s cousin and Maria and I. And beween all the adults Robert and Maria\'s cousin\'s granddaughter. There was a gaggle and twitter all the time and the waiters were a bit perturbed but we had a great time.

I just ignore that there was the word \'petunia\' several times on the page. I just IGNORE it... And I also ignore that a certain person will tell you fairy tales about old times. Pah! No way! ...washing in horse troughs, influx of rock-robbers, a string of washing over the street...

Hello everyone, I hope you\'re all ok and having fun, I am! I\'m sorry I didn\'t write to you lately, I\'ve been busy with my Dutch friends here in my flat, though I\'ve had so much fun with them, and tomorrow (in fact, in just some hours) I\'ll be travelling to my hometown, and on Saturday I\'ll be enjoying a concert with Bruce Springsteen in another city nearby with some friends of mine, so great (yes, I love the Boss and his music!). So, as you can see, I don\'t have too much time to write mails to you, but I hope I\'ll have more time soon, specially in August (I\'ll be alone most of the time, with no visits nor holidays)

Hello all! Been rained out yesterday and today. No spraying weeds. Oh well, nice day to stay indoors and read a book or watch a movie. Maybe eat something too!

Webbie, are you missing the good old days? Well I am too! Even though I started livin\' in the late 70\'s, I do remember the days when people counted money by hand. TV\'s were black and white, and no cell phones exisited. Those were the good old days. Of course now, I would not have made my friends here on the GBer site, if times didn\'t change, but I like simpler life...

Well off to do something, maybe move furniture, still thinking about it.

Love and Hugs,

Steph

Ah, yes those are lovely kittens, and right in fashion, too, they look like they are wearing black eyeliner. It is always nice to have two, they play together and keep each other company, not like Ms. Cat who is an only cat and always under my feet and looking for attention.

Liz, I would have looked at the delayed delivery of your washing machine as an opportunity to have some new clothes, send it back for a few days and go get some.

Hah, Webbie, those wimmen weren\'t singing while they were washing their clothes in the canal or the Liffey, they were crying and howling at having to work so hard. Just like a man to think they were singing.

Off to work. Y\'all be good.

Webmaster-Comment: Doing 2 Novenas and 1 Rosary in the mornings after the Forty-Foot and just a few prayers then after lunch. I sometimes get in the Stations but there are a few who are very slow on those and I feel like knocking them down with me cart. I have to bite my lip instead. Some of them are very loud too and ya hear every prayer they say but that can knock your own concentration.

Liz in my day the washing boards were just coming out. The wimmin used wash the clothes in the horse troughs at the front of the houses and some of them went down to the canal or the Liffey and washed on the big rocks. Alas, with the influx of the \"rock robbers\" to the country, from abroad, it was necessary to install the washing boards, in the houses and so that is how that invention came about. There was no Lifestyle Gyms in those days so that is how the ladies kept slim and trim and happy. You\'d hear the best of singers in the early morning down at the canal there beside Crow Park when the wimmin would be washing. And no cars then either so they could hang a string of washing from one side of the street to the other. Ah but those days are well gone now and that is sad....lol

I\'m back, I had to cut my last post short, I was at work & it took until quitting time to get it typed.

We had a good tournament, only 72 boats, but the fishing was pretty good.

We had high winds today just to the north of us & tornado warnings in northern Idaho. We just saw pictures on the news of uprooted trees & one pickup crushed by a tree. I don\'t think anyone was injured.

It\'s been pretty hectic at work because of vacations & people leaving so we are very short handed. I went to the dentist today & we only had 1 person on the parts counter until 9:30, instead of the normal 4. So it was all voice mails & catch-up all day long.
