Liz in my day the washing boards were just coming out. The wimmin used wash the clothes in the horse troughs at the front of the houses and some of them went down to the canal or the Liffey and washed on the big rocks. Alas, with the influx of the \"rock robbers\" to the country, from abroad, it was necessary to install the washing boards, in the houses and so that is how that invention came about. There was no Lifestyle Gyms in those days so that is how the ladies kept slim and trim and happy. You\'d hear the best of singers in the early morning down at the canal there beside Crow Park when the wimmin would be washing. And no cars then either so they could hang a string of washing from one side of the street to the other. Ah but those days are well gone now and that is sad....lol

I\'m back, I had to cut my last post short, I was at work & it took until quitting time to get it typed.

We had a good tournament, only 72 boats, but the fishing was pretty good.

We had high winds today just to the north of us & tornado warnings in northern Idaho. We just saw pictures on the news of uprooted trees & one pickup crushed by a tree. I don\'t think anyone was injured.

It\'s been pretty hectic at work because of vacations & people leaving so we are very short handed. I went to the dentist today & we only had 1 person on the parts counter until 9:30, instead of the normal 4. So it was all voice mails & catch-up all day long.

And Mike CA said he got the same medical report, too. Why are all the doctors saying the same thing? Is it a conspiracy? You\'d think one of them could think of something original to say.

Sorry about your washing machine, Liz. The only thing to do is to go out and buy some new clothes to tide you over until you get it installed. You\'re welcome.

Love that pic of the bike sculpture with the flowers plopped on to it on CAM 5 today, G. Ni Muiri. How imaginative to do that, that\'s recycling at it\'s best. It would be nice with a tricycle added to the top, too. Maybe it\'s a work-in-progress, and when the baby outgrows the trike they\'ll weld that on too. Thanks.

Everybody Take Care.

Hey, Mr. Mies. I was wondering where you were, nice to hear from you and to know everything is OK.

You are certainly doing well on your health program, it\'s great that you feel so good. An excellent story to inspire Micilin.

Seems that you had a very fine day, Annette. I love that smell of new-mown hay or grasses, too. That sounds like a wonderful butterfly, I don\'t know of any butterflies that size here, but we do have a moth that is that big, the Luna Moth, it is a pale green and very beautiful, but rare. And best of all, Franka will be with you for a while. Every so often there is a perfect day, and it makes life beautiful.

Hi too all. I\'ve missed you all. We had no internet in Kettle Falls without climbing a pole & jumping wires.almost). So much has happen in the 6 days since I was here.

Mick & Mike-We must have the same Dr. as that\'s what mine told me. I\'ve been on a diet & riding bike & walking the last several months. My blood sugar is down, I\'ve lost 36# & counting. My blod pressure is still high but controlable. I haven\'t felt this good in years.

Our tournaments are over for the year & I\'m glad although I can\'t wait until next year to see everyone again. They are all the best people, Like some GBers I know.

We had a mix of weather, it was 71F when we left Thursday. We got 50 miles north & it was raining & 53F. Then out of the rain & back to the 70s Then rain & thunder showers through Saturday night.

Perhaps, you remember from google earth that there is a field behind our garden. When I came home from work in the afternoon there was a harvester working on the field (and is still working there) and the air was/is full of dust. And there is a special smell in the air that always reminds me of my childhood. That smell is just there on warm summer days when fields are harvested. I can\'t really describe it but it makes me happy...

And then I talked to Franka on the phone. She will come home next Sunday and then be at home for summer break until the end of September.

I had to share that with all the GBers and tomorrow I will read back some posts and write some mails to you. So, see you then.

Hello everyone... What a nice day here today! Nothing special. Just some little events that can make you happy.

We had a perfect sunny and warm summer day and when I was working with some clients this morning I looked out of the window and thought there is a miracle. There was a huge (about 18 cm/7 inch) beautiful blue iridescent butterfly. I think it has been escaped from the butterfly house that it is in a park where you can visit butterflies from all over the world. Usually, they die when they find some space to escape because it\'s to cold for them outside. But it had good conditions today to survive for a while and it was magical when it flew through the street between the tall buildings to both sides...

Mornin\'...

Nice you like FaceBook, Liz. I\'m afraid I\'ve got enough to do, already.

Madam Woo says also that she has little time for helping people cure themselves of rock-snitching, she doesn\'t usually work on victimless crimes, but she says they might try this:

1. Gather all purloined rocks and pebbles into a metal box with very sharp corners.

2. Hold the box above your shoeless left big toe.

3. Drop it.

That should stop the rock-stealing for a while, and everything else, too. Use the time spent in the hospital to detox from the addiction.

No need to thank her, she does this out of the goodness of her heart.

I\'m gone. Busy days, here. Y\'all be good.

Hey, Micilin.

I\'m going on my road trip, but I haven\'t left yet. Don\'t worry, Webbie. Smokie doesn\'t have a vehicle fast enough to catch me. I\'ll blow his doors off.

Yes, Annette, thank you for the pics. Santander is lovely, and Maria Asuncion is just as beautiful as I thought she\'d be. There she sits, the Queen of the Agapanthus flowers, looking quite appropriately regal. Dammit, look at all those beautiful blue blossoms, I have an Agapanthus that I have been trying to get to bloom for 10 years, with no luck. I moved it from the garden into a pot on my deck last year, to try to make it happy, still not a flower in sight. I think I\'ll give it a good, swift kick as I go past the pot on my way out to my truckie in a little while. If it doesn\'t bloom next year, I\'m uprooting it and pitching it on the trash heap.

Now I\'m out of here.

Bye!

Mornin\'...

Now just a doggone minute here, Liz. To whom are you referring when you say \"you know who\" and mention someone connected with Madam Woo as planning to nick rocks? I certainly hope you aren\'t maligning my impeccable character, again. It\'s Mies and Annette and now Steph who do that. I may have stolen a few pebbles at the Alamo some years ago, but I\'m a reformed rock-lifter now, as pure as the driven snow. Stop trying to get me in trouble.

I have to go to Thomasville today. It should be a nice drive, the sun shineth on the land of the free and the home of the brave.

Y\'all take care.

Pat

Morning everyone.

Well, it\'s Monday morning, nice blue sky and warm sunshine, and dammit, I have to go to work.... Yesterday,(Sunday), was just the pits. It blew a storm all day, and the rain was relentless. It felt like January.. The rain and wind and cold just drove me crazy. Rainy Sundays are just so depressing.. The Summer is slipping by and we are facing the 1st of August, and truth to tell July has been a washout... I hate being cooped up in a stuffy office on nice sunny days...

Anyway, that\'s my little rant for today...

Hope everyone is well, and I suppose no matter where we live and what kind of weather we get, we always complain.

Off to the suffy office with me...

Stay safe and take care.

Treasa.

Good evening all! It\'s almost 9:30 pm here, and storms are a brewen\' west of here. May finally get some rain tonight and tomorrow. The high, finally tomorrow is suppose to be 78. Nice day to shoot some noxious weeds.

Annette, Oh, you would love the rocks around here. I start looking when I am spraying, and I think they are like jewels. There are so many white quartz lying around. I should take a photo of my rocks for Webbie. Okay sometime this week. Well I better get to bed. Got to get up around 4:30 AM. Darn the weekend goes by so fast.

But it was hot last night. Not hot like Florida and other places, but it never did cool down. I even got up and watched TV and turned on the window unit. Thank goodness for that.

Love and Hugs,

Steph.
