Cont.

Liz, I wanted a puppy, too, but Keeper turned out to be the best dog for me. If I had cats in the house, I wouldn\'t have been so quick to bring in an adult dog, I think it\'s better to introduce a puppy in that case, it\'s not so intimidating to the cats. One paw whack from a cat on the nose of a puppy that is getting too boisterous will teach that pup to respect cats for the rest of his life. Then you have the advantage of using that 5 to 8 week old imprinting period that pups have to socialize them with humans. You get a better companion that way. With Keeper, it wasn\'t much of an issue, she loves everybody, she\'s very sociable.

Pat-Glad you made it OK. I\'d like to visit the part of the USA someday. My Great Aunt lived in Glen Burnie, she moved back to South Dakota when she turned 95 & lived there another 10 years.

Annette-Glad you liked the pictures, those that didn\'t get them sorry. I tried resizing them, but it didn\'t work. I\'m trying it again & will send them if I works this time.

Well good night all! See tomorrow. I\'m tired, and the wind finally stopped here. Suppose to snow on Thursday, yes the white stuff will be coming down. My poor tulips they may not make it this year. Sweet dreams, and yes I am still mad! Grrrr!!!! Went to the store, and almost beat up the manager. Need a punching bag, I think.

Love and Hugs,

Steph

Thanks, Mick, for your evaluation of the situation. It\'s sometimes difficult to get some details from outside.

Weatherwise we weren\'t better off in the last days than Mick or Mr Mies. Cold, cold, windy, rainy and cold. Just a short summary... Mr Mies, I guess we pay for our COLD winter with a cold spring. Nice you had a great trip. Perhaps you can send some pictures.

Still windy & cold, 32F this morning. I guess we\'re paying for the warm winter now with a cold spring. At least the winds have let up.

Nice picture on CAM5 today, Thanks Eamon & Webbie. It\'s been a long time since I could fit in a tire swing. Unless it was made from a tractor tire

Howdy pardners

Chilly ol\' Bank Holiday weekend with heavy showers bashing the blossom off the cherry trees.

Worked Saturday and Monday reporting on a protest march against plans for a massive housing estate in the town and the annual May Fayre.

Won\'t get paid any extra, but I get time off in lieu and it means I won\'t be called on to cover the election count on Thursday night.

Annette - Professionaly I sit firmly on the fence as far as politics goes.

Personally I will probably vote for our local Conservative representative who has held the seat for many years proving himself a good constituency MP.

As for Mr Clegg, I don\'t really know enough about him to comment, but I suspect when it\'s all over he will fade back into obscurity where he came from.

Nice picture on CAM5 today. There are Pelicans at The Potholes & I saw a group fly over Saturday morning. There were 2 Herons, a Great Blue & a Black-Crowned Night Heron, trapped in the trout net pen by the dock. They were very scared & flew off as soon as we got the cover net open enough for them to get through.

Home again, the wind blew us in about 11:00 last night. Cold & very windy here since Saturday, gusts to 60mph today. Saturday for the tournament we had steady 25mph, with gusts to 35mph, & 4\' to 5\' white caps on the lake. I\'ll try to send a few pictures. It was a great tournament with more fish caught & the average weight per fish higher than the last few years. The next one is Banks Lake on the 22nd & 23rd & we dropped the trailer there on our way home last night.

Pat-Have great trip & don\'t let the Smokeys catch you.

Hey, that\'s a great photo on the Cam today. The pelicans use every little spot to sit on... and to po*p on... hehehehe

Poor pelicans in the Gulf of Mexico. I wonder how many of them will survive the oil catastrophe.

Liz, Webbie wasn\'t here the last days. So we have plenty of rope to do all what we want. And Madam Woo is gone with Pat, too.

Pat, have a nice journey and enjoy the time with your daughter and her dog. I guess temperatures in Baltimore aren\'t as high as in Florida yet. But I\'m sure it will be a lovely trip.

Liz, we will get lonesome here when Pat is gone too. I also miss Treasa. I hope she is okay. We will have to think about making some mischief as long as Pat doesn\'t see it.

Mick, I\'m curious about your election. Will Mr Clegg be the winner?

Have a nice week all.

It\'s raining and so garden work is cancelled and I can use this quiet afternoon for writing some mails and clearing some papers. The rain is appreciated as the April was much too dry here around. We just had one third of the usual amount of rain of normal years. I hope it wilo rain all night long to soak in enough. The grass and bushes and trees are green and it\'s a beautiful sight. The time between March and end of May is my favourite season. Though, I also like a hot summer day.

Hello everyone, sorry I\'ve been missing for so long, but I\'ve been (and keep being) so busy busy busy!!!! I tell you a little about it:

-I\'ve had many medical appointments (my migraines are only due to genetical factors, everything\'s right in my head; but they haven\'t got a clue about what happens to my knee, they keep testing...)

-I\'ve had (and keep having)guests at home, first my sister and right some Dutch friends, I love having them and I have loads of fun with them, but of course, I have less time to talk to you...

Interesting shot on CAM 5, Sonya nic Rafferty. I don\'t know quite what they are doing there in Hanover, Germany, but it looks interesting. Cool building, too.

There are many towns in Pennsylvania Dutch country named after cities in Germany or after German settlers...I was born in Hanover, PA, USA. There\'s a Berlin, PA, Mummasburg, Arendtsville, for starters, all within about 10 miles of Hanover. But the best names for towns around there are Bird-in-Hand, Blue Ball, and Intercourse. I swear it\'s true.

Cont.

Ms. Wren was not at home when I stopped by this evening, but the babies were all sleeping peacefully, and they have soft brown feathers on their little heads, they were kind of baldish at first. I\'m afraid to take a flash pic of them, because it might damage their eyes, and it is too dark in their little cavity nest to get a photo. I\'ll have to wait until they come out to play.

Hope you are all having a good week, and enjoying Spring. I see that the two trees in front of the Not to Worry Shop have leafed out. It\'s the best season of the year everywhere.

Bye!

Pat
