Hello chaps

Just had a trawl back a coupla pages and saw Patricia wrote a bad word.

Mr Mies story about the Seattle cougar was on the BBC website.

Scary stuff about that young lad being attacked.

Is that normal behaviour for the cats or was he doing something to wind it up?

Mar - 20 years before the mast - no celebration just a coupla beers and a tot or two.

Saving the jukebox for when I retire 80 papers down the line.

Yes sirree podna, I\'m counting.

Nah, Jack. My life is fine on all counts, including my sense of humor. I just don\'t think that making up a silly story like a 6 year old trying to be shocking is particularly funny.

Have a good sleep.

Nice pic on 5

A song for Liz

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia

On the trail of the lonesome Pine

In the pale moonshine our hearts entwine

Where you carved your name and I carved mine.

Oh, you - like the mountains are blue

Like the pine - I am lonesome for you

In the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia

On the trail of the lonesome Pine.

On a mountain in Virginia stands a lonesome Pine

Just below is the little cabin home of a little girl of mine

Her name is June and very, very soon she\'ll belong to me

For I know she\'s waiting there for me \'neath that lone Pine tree.

Hey, Steph, I hope your sinus infection is better, and I hope that you are better, too, Liz.

Some school here in the U.S., I forget where, had 2000 cases of probable swine flu within 10 days of opening. That\'s scary, I\'ll be getting my vaccination ASAP, and meantime extra hand washing and keeping hands away from your eyes and nose and mouth and staying out of crowds is the only thing you can do. It seems it will be a bad fall and winter for the that flu. Be careful.

Bye!

Sure, sure, Jacks, the two of you. That\'s all very nice. Now run along and play.

Beautiful Wyoming shot on CAM 5, Kirsten Kjaer. Fabulous colors. Thank you.

It\'s Labor Day here, major holiday that marks the end of summer. Always a 3-day weekend, lots of traveling to big family picnics and cookouts. Traffic will be especially heavy here as it is also the weekend of the first football games for both of our local Universities. I must venture out in it later in the day, but I\'ll be practicing \"defensive driving\".

I read that Seattle cougar has been relocated back into the wilds, Mieses. Amazing that he ever got into a park that close to people, I think he had to cross some railway bridges and the like to do it, and was never seen.

I hope you are all having a nice Monday.

Hello all! Yes I\'ve been gone for a week here. I became sick with a cold that turned into a sinus infection. Then at the school we do not have an air conditioner so when I come home at night I am tired, and exhausted. The kids are the same way.

Mar, glad you had a great time at the beach. Get some cool air for me and bottle it up, okay.

Mr. Mies, is it hot right now where you are at for the cougars to attack and come into town? I know we have been hot here, but yet it is cool at night. The problem is no rain, except today. Had a nice thunderstorm. Everyone have a great weekend. Three days here for Labor day, personally I rather have September 11th as a day off to remember the events that changed our world during our time.

Love and Hugs,

Steph

Mies, stop painting for a while and talk to us, please! (while enjoying a Guinness, of course )

Mr.Mies, sorry to hear you found such an unorganized store, did you manage to put some order in it? Enjoy your three-day weekend, so you have so much to do! I hope at least Mies and yourself will have time to have a Guinness… or two… Too bad about your weather, I hope it’ll improve soon Great to know the 5 year-old boy will be cured soon, I hope all these cougars there won’t attack anyone anymore…

Pat, great to know your wasp trap works, I hope you’ll get rid of them soon, if not already Did you finally have to buy a new mouse after the old one received Erin’s ice cream? I hope your stormy weather has improved now… Poor Mrs.Cat, I hope she does NOT have Alzheimer, but only a contradictory character due to her old age, keep us informed, please!

Liz, great to know you had some rain, I’m sure you needed it Do you let your bear inside your house? Do you have a bear? How\'s Regahn now? And Sean? And your son and daughters?

Hello everyone, it’s been a lovely beach day today in Barcelona, finally! After several cloudy and even rainy days… Summer came back today, how good! Apart from this, everything’s ok here, with no special news. I see you’ve been fighting over a Guinness beer lately, come on kids, don’t fight, of course the pint in the picture was a perfect one, but as Mr.Mies explained, there’s Guinness enough for everyone (except Patricia!!! ) everywhere… that’s one of the benefits of the new “global world”, right?

We had a 5 year old boy attacked by a cougar on Wed., while hiking with his parents, in the northeast part of the state. He had head wounds & will be OK, he was saved by his mother beating the cougar with her water bottle. Then in Seattle a cougar was sighted in Discovery Park, a large park in a very populated area. Last night Fish & Wildlife agents captured a 2 1/2 year old male cougar there. Discovery Park used to be Ft. Lawton, an army base, it\'s where our daughter was born when I was in the Navy.

Nice picture on CAM5. Thanks Mark & Webbie

The shed is done, my part at least. Mies has some painting left. Now all I have to do is wait for her next project.

It started raining last night & has cooled of. I think fall is here it just has that feel. I went grouse hunting Wed. & it\'s only 2 weeks until our trip to Montana. Where did summer go:?

I know what you mean, Liz, some cats make us stand around waiting for them to decide what it is they want to do. Some are just nice and gentle, walk softly and sleep a lot, but Ms Cat has always been a loud, rowdy, boisterous, willful critter, stomps around trying to run the house and everyone in it, though she has slowed down a little in the last year or so.

Cont.

Annette, you are right, and I had that in mind too, that she might not be feeling well, that\'s why I was watching her so closely yesterday morning. Changes in behavior can sometimes tell us if something is not well with pets. However, she is still eating and drinking wery well and is very annoyed if her bowl is not filled quickly enough at mealtimes, has no fever, I\'ve checked each paw and leg and everywhere for places that might hurt...nothing. She doesn\'t like me to look at her teeth, so I will wait until my daughter helps me with that as it will be a battle. She goes to the vet soon for check-up and booster shots, etc. but her behavior doesn\'t indicate any physical problems, which is why I think it\'s mental. It looks like early Alzheimers to me.

Actually, that might be an improvement in her personality.

Y\'all have a good day.

Pat
