And I quote:

posted: 24.09.2009 01:38

\"now where are all the irish and all the want to be irish no one not even the webbie to tell us that today is the birthday of the GUINNESS 250 years old today\"

Probably most of the Irish were sleeping at that hour, and not posting on here. It wasn\'t even the 24th yet where I am. I don\'t know any \"want to be Irish\", that implies that people don\'t want to be what they are, and I don\'t think that\'s true. I don\'t want to be anything but American, but that doesn\'t keep me from having an interest and affection for the German, Scottish, and Welsh parts of my heritage, equal to my interest in the Irish parts.

Continued...

Cont.

We all understand Liz\'s posting perfectly well, always nice friendly non-criticizing messages, except when she has to fend off unnecessary slurs from other quarters. Please note the lack of punctuation and proper capitalization in the above quote. Is it \"the pot calling the kettle\"?

Hope everybody is having a nice day, and that Webbie will give us some cleeks if he is still standing after his all-day celebration of Guinness in the Pubs.

Bye.

Pat

it would be a good thing if you used the spell checker now and then LIZZIE i know that you went on the geer down by the canal ...but then you were from the hill.... strange how we see a lot more over here about queensland than the people see there maybe it is because you don\'t get out enough ...even the cabbies did not drive around

As well as being Bruce Springsteen\'s birthday, today is also Ray Charles\' birthday, and the house where he lived in Greenville, which is in the next county east of me was dedicated as an historic site today.

I\'m not sure if he was born in that house, but he lived there when he was very small, people who still live in that neighborhood remembered that at about 3, his eyes were strange and he was going blind, and that he used to play the piano in a neighbor\'s house. At 7, he was enrolled in the school for the blind in St. Augustine. There is also a life-size statue of him in Greenville, but to tell you the truth, there isn\'t much else there. Just thought you might like to know all that.

Take Care.

Mornin\'...

Great cleeks today, Webbie. A little of the Boss\'s rockin\' will start your day right and tell you whose birthday it is.

Got new fires in California, a little too close for my comfort to my daughter in Riverside County. I talked to her, and she says that they can smell the smoke sometimes. Bummer.

Erin\'s girls\' softball team got soundly trounced twice in a double header with Bainbridge yesterday, bad refereeing, but they would have been beaten without that, anyway. Just outclassed by an older, bigger, more experienced team. There is no joy in Mudville, my little Casey struck out. Ah, well, they\'ll get bigger and better in another year.

I\'m off to Tallahassee today, gotta go now. Y\'all be nice.

We got home OK about 10:00 & everything packed into the house. We hit it right this year & spent 2 hours in the middle of 6 or 7 bull elk, all bugling & trying to keep their cows away from the others. Lots of pictures & videos to go through now. Talk to you all tomorrow.
