Hello everyone, I hope you all had a great weekend, I did! Yesterday I was seeing a great Flamenco dancer and her dancing Company, they were great! And then we went to eat tapas, then we saw some fireworks in the distance, and then we had a couple of (soft, at least me) drinks in the beach (my friends took some \"mojitos\" that maybe you\'d have liked...). And today I was visiting the \"Pueblo Español\" in Montjüich, full of nice buildings and craftwork shops (we even saw how some masters on glass menagerie made, with some simple tools and their hands, some beautiful glass figures, like flowers or a small bull, sooo nice!), and then we walked for a long long while to the beach. And all this time my knee has felt pretty well, it\'s a bit tired now, but it\'s ok, I keep enjoying and having fun, NOTHING\'S GOING TO STOP ME!!!!

There were prizes given for the biggest fish weighed each hour & an auction held after dinner. Dinner was donated by TJ\'s Bar & Grill, my favorite place to eat in Kettle Falls, steak, prawns, BBQ salmon, smoked turkey, & huckleberry cheesecake. I may not have to eat until tomorrow afternoon & Caleb went back for seconds. We had a great day & lots of fun.

Back from the 2nd Annual Balls & Chain Tournament, a 1 day event to benefit the Casey McKern Pay It Forward Foundation. Casey broke his neck diving into Lk. Roosevelt a few years ago & they started this tournament to raise money for a wheelchair for him. Now his family & him have started a foundation to buy wheelchairs & things for other paraplegics. It\'s a mixed team tournament 1 man & 1 woman teams & bribes are excepted to handicap other teams, like making them only fish with the boat in reverse for the first hour, or last years winners use a Pink Barbie & Blue Batman pole.

Mornin\'...

The sun is shining here, looks like a regular hot late summer Florida day.

Hey, Phillis. I know what you mean about getting lost in a good book...it\'s like a mini-vacation, isn\'t it? Yep, this GB (Guest Book) is like talking to your neighbors over the back fence...only it\'s an international back fence, with Ireland or Germany or Spain or Australia or Washington State or somewhere else on the other side.

OK, I\'m off to start the dreaded Saturday chores. I\'ve got to wash my little truckie, something is growing on the top of the cab again.

Y\'all be good, and have a nice weekend.

Had to share...

\"When I die, I want to go like my grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep---not screaming like his passengers did!\"

Morbidly funny, I thought.

Wow, five days gone from the site and I missed so many posts! You people are truly a joy to read...

I\'m struck by how similar we all are. Our phrasing and knowledge of singers and such. It truly is a small world.

Must confess I\'ve been lost in novels lately and not much time on the computer. Such fun to read of others\' vacations and real life activities.

Thank you all for your posts.

Today is the gym, tomorrow is grandson\'s birthday party. His 4th.

Wishing I had been in Barcelona. My parents loved it there...

Hugs to you all and happy weekend.

Treasa, I understand you soooooo well, I first was in NY last year in June, and then again last June this year, and I still have the images of the city, and specially of the 5th Avenue and of Times Square frozen in my head every now and then, I love it sooo much!!! Please, send me your best pictures there, I’d love sooo much to see them! And you have a new cousin all of a sudden, it must be great, you must have sooo many things to tell to each other, congratulations, friend! It’s true, I was also surprised about Sarah celebrating Christmas in October, but when she explained it, I thought it was such a great idea! We all miss Sarah so much…

Annette, Arthur’s Day party? It was also the “Mercé” day in Barcelona, which means “Santa Maria the Merciful”, Barcelona’s patron and protector, so Barcelona was sooo full of parties, funny activities, free museums, free open air concerts, fireworks, etc, etc, a huge party from yesterday to Sunday, the best time of the year in Barcelona! I completely agree, NO SNOW YET, PLEASE!!!

Steph, you don’t like the sun? Then don’t come here, luckily for me, it’s sooo sunny and hot here, and I know I’m going to miss it so much soon… I see you’re busy busy with your papers, not tooooo busy, I hope…

And finally I saw a splendid fireworks show in the beach. It was a pity that I had to work today, because otherwise I would have enjoyed some of the open air concerts all along the city (over a dozen of them!). Today I didn’t go anywhere because my knee and the rest of my body was a bit tired, but tomorrow I plan to visit the Royal Palace in Barcelona (open to the public only tomorrow) and maybe some other museum (free again), then in the afternoon I’ll go to see a Flamenco female Dancer, Sara Baras, dancing “Carmen”, and then in the night more fireworks and maybe some concert, I hope. I just hope it’ll sunny and warm again, we’ll see… By the way, I’ll be sending you loads of pictures soon, I promise, ok?

I saw the “Castellers”, which is simply amazing: groups of many people who manage to build a “human castle” in the shape on a tower, some of them really high, only with their physical bodies, even children take part, in fact children create the “roof” if the tower, dangerous and thrilling; I also saw a wonderful exhibition about Tuthankhamon (wonderful!!!) and the Maritim Museum full of really old ships, boats, sailing elements, … (yesterday many Museums had free entrance), and then, after eating a delicious ice-cream, I went to a big park where they had many interesting and entertaining activities about Asia: Chinese dragons, people from several Asian countries teaching how to write in their complicated calligraphies; the best one was when two attractive young Indian men taught us how to dance Bollywood dances, it was sooo funny!!!!

Oh, I miss my bike soooo much!!!! Apart of this, I can make a more or less normal life, I keep having fun, going and coming back everywhere, because I’m not going to let this event to prevent me from living my life, nothing’s going to stop me, haaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!!!

2) talking about parties: yesterday was the “Mercé” day, which means the festivity of Saint Mary the Merciful, the saint patron of Barcelona, and the city if FULLLLL of parties everywhere!!! Yesterday it was simply great: it was sunny and warm, and I saw the “Dance of the Giants”, with old figures of medieval and more modern giants “dancing” along some old streets to the rhythm of the musicians;

Of course, my reaction was: “Couldn’t your colleague have told me so 6 months ago????? I’ve lost 6 months, the whole spring and the whole summer!!! “. His reaction was to admit his colleague’s mistake and to give me a report for the rheumatologist… So, last Tuesday I visited a polite young female rheumatologist, she told me to have blood and synovial liquid tests, and I’ll have to visit her again on October’s first days, and she’ll decide what to do then, probably some infiltrations on my knee, I’ll told you then. What both doctors made me understand is that I have a chronical problem that will be repeated every few years (it happened 5 years ago and now again, and it’ll be happening like this for the rest of my life…), so I’ll have to make a good use of my healthy periods, I guess….

Well, the new one told me that he won’t operate my knee because it’s a very hard and complicated operation with just a few amount of possibilities of success, and he explained to me how to make this operation, and I agree: I don’t want to go through this complicated and useless operation. The frustration came when I asked him what we would do now (after 6 months with pain and suffering) and he told me: “Well, actually, as in this case only the textures (muscles and cartilagues) are affected and not the bones themselves, this is not a case for a traumatologist, you should visit a rheumatologist”.
