Hello, Micilin.

Love that poem. Perfect accompliment (compliment?, complement?) Never mind, perfect thing, to go with Maria Asuncion\'s beautiful pic on CAM 5, today. Thank you.

Especially nice today since (Ahem, ahem, Webbie) there are no cleeks. I told you I was feeling cranky today.

Gotta go.

Mornin\'...

Bright sunshine and 80F here today, Guys. Sorry about that.

(Snicker, snicker. I\'m feeling cranky this morning.)

Re the Interrabang, \"WTF\" is the same as \"What the p*nk??!!!\" which expresses surprise coupled with slight annoyance, used extensively among those with potty mouths. The Interrabang is much more refined.

Grandgirls are visiting today. I must check supplies of cookies and chocolate milk.

Y\'all be good.

\"Sea-Fever\"

I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky,

And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by,

And the wheel\'s kick and the wind\'s song and the white sail\'s shaking,

And a grey mist on the sea\'s face, and a grey dawn breaking.

I must down to the seas again, for the call of the running tide

Is a wild call and a clear call that may not be denied;

And all I ask is a windy day with the white clouds flying,

And the flung spray and the blown spume, and the sea-gulls crying.

I must down to the seas again, to the vagrant gypsy life,

To the gull\'s way and the whale\'s way where the wind\'s like a whetted knife;

And all I ask is a merry yarn from a laughing fellow-rover

And quiet sleep and a sweet dream when the long trick\'s over.

By John Masefield (1878-1967).

I thought you\'d all be glad to know that I am OK now. I had only a few scratches and bruises from having to pull myself through the car window on the passenger door as the drivers side was crushed from hitting the guard rail. I was on my way to The Union Gospel Mission where I volunteer to feed the poor and homeless. I was reassured because I couldn\'t make it there with my pot of chicken n\' dumplings that only a few dozen people were turned away and went hungry that day.

I\'m sure the lead-footed person in the truckie had a good reason for running me off the road. So, I want her to know there is no hard feelings and I forgive her

Webmaster-Comment: Oh dear - LOL you are just too forgiving. She is likely to do this again. I blame her technical engineer for bumping up her truckie to 420BHP. Someone shd report him.

Home from Ellensburg, a balmy 10F on the way this morning. The fog was so thick for 60 miles you could cut it with a knife. But at on point it was only 4\' deep, you couldn\'t see the road, but the thin sliver of a moon & stars were there.

Pat-Never heard of the infamous Interrabang & just what does WTF mean

But wait. I just thought of something else. I\'ve been noticing that somebody has a blog about being a grrrrl, haven\'t read it, but I suspect it is our Mies. Looks like that might be a new word for a female that is always complaining. Probably always swearing, too. I read your post about the DMV, Mies. Tsk, tsk.

Hehehehehe. That\'s payback for spreading the rumor about somebody\'s truckie forcing little old ladies off the road.

Bye! I\'m runnin\'!

Mornin\'...

Jeez, I feel almost guilty telling you that it is a beautiful, sunny morning here, and we will be in the low 70sF today. However, that is what we go through the hot summers for...so I\'m throwing guilt out the window.

Sleep tight, Liz. Drive carefully, Mr. Mies. I think bears are smarter than people, they hibernate during your cold winters.

Just read an article about a punctuation mark that has been around since the 60s, used extensively in comic books, but since I don\'t read comic books, it has been flying under my radar, and never came into common usage, though it said that it was actually put on some typewriter keyboards in the 60s.

Cont.

It is the \"Interrabang\", and no, I didn\'t make all this up. It\'s a combination of a question mark and an exclamation point, and is written as one symbol. I can\'t reproduce it for you, as I don\'t have it on my computer keyboard. I don\'t know why it never caught on, it\'s a great idea, the article said that WTF is the most common way currently used to express what the interrabang does, or some combination of both punctuation marks, which unfortunately requires several keystrokes and has no uniformity of use. Just keeping you informed of world-shaking information. You\'re welcome. Why have I never heard of this before??!!!

A Nora Roberts trilogy with an Irish setting, Phillis? Is that the person who also writes detective novels under the name of C.D. Robb?

The woman must be a writing machine, she turns out an amazing number of NY Times best sellers every year. I have not read anything she wrote, strangely enough as I am a prolific and omnivorous reader. Almost anything with an Irish element in it is enjoyable to me, is this trilogy good? I just passed two excellent novels about the American West on to my daughter, both by the same author and recommended by Micilin in England, and I had to order them from Alibris or Amazon, one. Can\'t remember the writer\'s name at the moment, but I\'d say they were almost as epic as Lonesome Dove, though on a smaller scale. I\'ll retrieve the titles and author\'s name for you if you like Westerns. I found it strange that I heard about two of the best Westerns I ever read from an Englishman. Another perk of being a GBer.

Annette, Robert is officially a member of \"Ditzes Anonymous\", now. May his ditziness live long and increase. Hehehehehe. That\'s almost as good as being a member of the group that has been gull-pooped.

I\'m off to start the hated Saturday housework chores. I\'m still looking for a cure for that. Y\'all Take Care.

The sn*w has stopped. It never really stuck on the roads, but we had about 1\" on the lawn & a lot more in the mountains (where it belongs) I just hope tomorrow morning doesn\'t have much freezing fog or black ice.

Steph-Good to hear Bruce is making progress, we check his site everyday. Hope you are doing well & our storm misses you.

Annette-Just read that they found bones of 4 German tourists that have been missing in Death Valley since 1996. There car got stuck in a remote area & they apparently walked away from it.

The insurance adjuster was a tiny young lady who made me feel like a giant at my 5\'0. The repairs are going to be crazy--replace half kitchen cabinets, all the floor and countertops! No $ amount yet. Will send written estimate. Yikes! Glad to hear all seem to be faring well.

Hello everyone, I missed the GB the last days. Too much work and too many events here during the week. I couldn\'t even welcome Pat.

So... Welcome back, Pat. Nice to hear you had a great trip. And thanks a lot for your beautiful photos. I will have a closer look at them over the weekend and also show Mr A. Sorry, I had to laugh about your \'ditsy happening of the day\'. It somehow reminded me of a similar \'ditsy happening\' here. Someone slipped an old banana in Robert\'s school rucksack... and the banana got a bit older over the weekend... and nobody noticed it... and Robert put all the books and folders and papers in the rucksack... The result was that there was no single book or paper that didn\'t have a broad \'banana-mush\' stripe at the lower end. Some papers and books flew right in the paper bin and I had to buy them again. Some others we could clean a bit and also dried them on the floor for some days.
