UH-OH...Glad Pat signed off early before she saw this...tsk tsk..no new photo on Cam 5...Her life would be ruined for sure...

Phillis, Yep, you\'re right. Singing Soprano & Westerns don\'t mix...On cattle drives high notes could scare the cows, start a STAMPEDE! It would also be impossible to sneak up on cattle rustlers screeching out a song..Only sissy cowboys sing soprano & cowgirls too.....None of that for me! Give my a good ol\' shoot up \'em and ride them hard & put them away wet movie.

Okay, I\'ll admit it. I did Like Webbie\'s cleek and the Oklahoma movie too. I\'m a sucker for a musical...

Okay, Mies, maybe a chic flick western. But I still say anytime one of the stars sings soprano, it ain\'t a true western. LOL

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Seamus

Mick-Yeah Oklahoma was a western, like Paint Your Wagon & 7 Brides For 7 Brothers. Several years ago our local theater company did Oklahoma, they couldn,t find any blank cartridges here, so they asked me to load them some. I put together several combo\'s & the first one they tried, one of the heavier loads, blew a large drop curtain down. I guess lots of smoke & noise wasn\'t the effect they were after

Holy Mackerel, Webbie. Truly great cleeks. Lots of good guitar, did you know that Django Reinhart is a gypsy? Acker Bilk, really can do Dixieland, but it is kind of strange to see, what is that person\'s ethnicity, (Hungarian?) singing \"I went down to the St. James Infirmary\" on that page.

Well, I\'m wired, now.

Grandgirls are coming in today, got to check the cookie supply.

Bye!

And Mick, what is \"mash\" in the UK? In Texas, it refers to homemade liquor also known as \"white lightening\". Bootleggers sold it by the pint or quart during our prohibition time in the 1920\'s and 30\'s. I actually tasted it for the first time not too long ago. First of October, actually. Strong stuff.

Watched the Irish movie \"The Commitments\" yesterday. Curious about a term often used in the film. So, pardon me if it is an inappropriate P**k type word, but, from where does the term \"poxy\" derive?

Oklahoma as a cowboy movie? Now that\'s funny. Poor Mick!

The panhandle is the bit of the state which extends beyond the \"rectangle\" part of any state. Oklahoma has one. It\'s the skinny part which is in the northwest corner of the state. Florida has one too. On Texas, it\'s a bit less obvious. It\'s the wide northwestern section of the state which extends north. The term probably originates from the image of a skillet\'s handle. Looks as though you might pick up the state off a map by lifting it at the handle. Help any?

Stephen King is \"the man\" if you ask my brother. I\'ll have to borrow Under the Dome from him. His is definitely a creative mind. Firestarter was my first experience. Oh how intensely written!

Happy Sunday, Pat, and everyone else. No work at all for me today. Except infernal laundry...

I like the dynamite idea for monkey grass. My grandfather was a blaster with his own company. Maybe able to send you some samples, Pat. LOL

Howdy pardners

Yo Texas - My dear ol\' departed ma, bless her cotton socks, took me to see Oklahoma at the local cinema when I was a sprog. Told me it was a cowboy film - don\'t think I ever fully recovered from the trauma.

What exactly is the panhandle?

Speaking as a whingeing pom/limey who likes a good moan, soaking in the bath with a good book sounds like bliss.

Still engrossed in Stephen King\'s Under The Dome, what a penman.

Liz - Pleasant dreams.

Sausage casserole and mash for dinner/lunch - depends if you\'re posh or not - scrummy.

Whatho chaps

Looks like another damp day in Dublin.

Not raining here at the moment, but a big bunch of black clouds pushing in from the west so I guess we\'re in for another soaking

Mar - Not so dusty me ol\' mucker thanks for asking. But I am still fighting this darn chest infection and am due back at the doc\'s tomorrow.

Happy birthday Sean and happy birthday Seamus. Little ol\' dog\'s three today - don\'t seem possible.

Patricia - Monkey grass - that\'s a new one on me. Sounds like what we call twitch. Only way to get rid of the darn stuff is to pick the roots out out inch by inch and burn them. Cut it in half and you\'ve got double trouble.

Of course you are allowed to complain on this GB, Phillis. That\'s what it\'s for.

Nice Wexford harbor shot, Mike Lester. I see a pickup truck there, I\'m so impressed, I didn\'t think the Irish were sophisticated enough to have any of those little truckies. Hehehehehe.

I\'m runnin\', Webbie!

Hey, wait a minute! I think I won that bet about when

Sean would be born. In fact, I\'m sure I did. Jeez. You can\'t turn your back around here! Anyway, Happy Birthday, Sean.

Sorry its so late, small boy, Ms. Pat has been grubbing out Monkey Grass from her garden all day. I have to admit defeat, though, I am going to have to get the man who comes to do the heavy work in the garden to finish it up.

Cont.

I have been working 3 days, and it is only about 1/4 finished, and I don\'t want to be working on it for the next 6 weeks, day and night. I ran into a fire ant bed and have bites on both wrists above where my gardening gloves stop. This Monkey grass is nasty, invasive stuff, it sneaks underground and comes up where you don\'t want it, and it is a b***h to get out. Weed killer is only a source of amusement to it. Some heavy equipment, a tiller or a bulldozer or a few rounds of dynamite might help.

I\'m off to bed. Y\'all have a nice SundaY.

Elizabeth, what joy to have 2 grandkids so close together! Happy Birthday to your dear Sean. My youngest grand turned 4 in September. The oldest is 14 with two more in between. I\'m happy we still have a young one. He\'s so fun.

I\'m tired. Am I allowed to complain on GB? My feet ache from double back shifts. I\'m too old for two jobs, volunteer work and class. I want to stretch out in a hot bath with a good book. Think I will, at that. Be safe, everyone.
