Pat, you did well avoiding Black Friday, all the shops and stored must have been overcrowded! :e} Iíd love to see your garden, it must be so beautiful! Buy all the plants, but please, donít buy a pi*k one, please!!!! We donít have a Thanksgiving Day, we have 2 festivities, the National Constitution Day, on Dec. 6th, and the Saint Mary Immaculate Day, on the 8th. Traditionally, they meant the start of the Christmas (if not officially, at least in our minds), and it was more than enough taking into account that our Christmas season lasts here until Jan. 6th included. But every year they start turning the Christmas lights on earlier (they did it yesterday in Madrid) and personally I think itís too early, when the real Christmas start weíre all already fed up of so many lights and Santaís hanging in the windows, they make it too long!

Hello everyone, I\'m back after some busy days. I\'ve been busy here, with my work, with my family visiting me (my youngest sister and my mom left yesterday in the morning, and other of my sisters arrived later in the afternoon with her boyfriend), and also in the gym, meeting friends in and out of Barcelona... And also, as you might already know, I\'ve been too busy there playing in the Facebook to the Farmville game... I\'m addicted to that game! (just like other people, but that doesn\'t justify it). I feel a bit guilty, because I have abandoned my internet friends a bit because of that game, but I promise I\'ll solve it this weekend. Sorry about that, friends

I don\'t think we got a frost last night, but it isn\'t light enough to see outside yet, and i haven\'t ventured out yet, so I don\'t know for sure. I cut a dozen white camellia blossoms last night and brought them in, I couldn\'t bear to think what a frost would do to them, but it may have been wasted efort. Whatever.

I hope you all are having a nice weekend, actually I am having a great one, I like nothing better than digging in the ground, even though I complain a lot.

Bye!

Mornin\'...

Jeez, it\'s only 6:30 in the morning here, and I\'ve been awake since 4. I worked until dark in the yard yesterday, and came in cold and dampish, showered and had leftover turkey stuff, settled down in the warm bed to watch TV and fell asleep. Never woke up until 4. Now I\'m ready to go out again when it gets light to dig up monkey grass invading my garden under the oak. Note, never, never, plant monkey grass as an edging. It creeps out underground until the border gets to be 6 feet wide, and you have to kill yourself to dig it up. That is tough stuff. I\'m digging up about 100 feet by 5 feet of it, bit by bit, and that\'s hard work.

Thanks for that picture on CAM5 Mark Westlake, it goes to show that even in disrepair some buildings can be beautiful.

Liz-You better hurry there are only 2 pieces of pie left, but still lots of turkey. That will go fast tomorrow, after Caleb comes home. Today we tarped the stage trailer to keep it dry this winter. Then we took a long walk around part of the Spokane River & saw lots of ducks & geese. The cold weather in Canada has them migrating south & stopping here until we get a solid freeze.

Thank for you comments on the lighthouse picture. It was beautiful September day in 2000. Yes Pat, if you read the sign it says \"Reality 5 miles\" with an arrow pointing towards the parking lot. Mies tried to hitch a ride with some people riding horses & when they turned her down she wanted a piggy back ride. It\'s a great area for nature watchers with lots of sea & shore birds, seals, otters, & sometimes whales. We saw a submarine going into its base in Puget Sound. We will do it again if we get the chance, but will allow all day for the trip. (or Mies will rent horses)

Oops. That should be 3/4 CUPS of sugar in that recipe.

I don\'t know what \"cuos\" are.

Bye!

Thanks for the cleeks, Webbie. Nice variety there too, something for everybody, Martina McBride to Montovani. Can\'t start seriously on my day without my cleeks, anymore, even if there aren\'t any, I have to go back and listen to some old ones.

I do not venture downtown or into the stores or malls on this day, Black Friday, so I\'ll be working at home all day.

Ya\'ll have a nice day, and a good weekend.

Bye!

It sounds like the Americans on this GB had a nice Thanksgiving. Wot, Mieses, no pumpkin pie??!!! Actually, I like sweet potato pie better, but that\'s cheating on Thanksgiving.

Annette, here\'s a new (to me, anyway) recipe for cranberries, so simple, too. Rinse and put a 12 ounce package of fresh cranberries in a 2 quart dish with 3/4 cuo of sugar and 1/4 cup of orange juice, cover with plastic wrap with a couple of holes poked in it with a fork, and microwave it for 7/10 minutes, stirring it a couple of times until the berries begin to pop. Delicious. You\'re welcome.

It will be warm enough this afternoon to go out and finish weeding under my oak. I got the hydrangeas in, but left the cleaning out in that garden unfinished.

Phillis, I thought your climate might be much like mine here, but from what you say, it seems it is colder. Do you ever get snow? Most of our winter days are in the high 60s and low 70s, except for 3 or 4 freezes at night, mostly in late December and January, and by late February and early March it is definitely Spring. I have a beautiful white camellia blooming right now, the blossoms that are open will get nipped if we get a frost tonight, but that doesn\'t bother the buds, they seem not to get damaged by cold.

Mornin\'...

Nice lighthouse on CAM 5, Mr. Mies. Isn\'t that the one where you had to walk 5 miles to get to it, and when she realized you had to walk 5 miles to get back, Mies threw one of her hissy fits? Hehehehehe.

Bright, sunny day here, a little cool,it will only get up to about 65F, but we may have a a frost before morning. Which means that I have to bring all tender plants in from the deck, which I always forget to do until 11 PM, and freeze my fanny off doing it. And always forget to bring in one of them, and lose it. Last year I forgot to bring in my beautiful Christmas Cactus...killed that outright. Bummer. I am going to buy another, p**k this time, which I like better than the peach.

I\'m impressed Mr. M; lovely photo of the lighthouse.

Jack, trust you\'re feeling better.

Happy Day-After Thanksgiving to you all. Hope your pants still fit. I\'m relieved to say I did not overeat. Worked in the morning, then dinner at my neighbors. The daughter and grandkids were visiting the other side of their family, so I had a rather easy day of it. Very little cooking. Burned the bread pudding as I fell asleep while it was in the oven...oh well. The pups enjoyed it.

Wouldn\'t have wanted to make the Mayflower trip, can you imagine the bravery it took to sail in those days?

Off to work again. Hugs to all and please be safe.

Thanks Webbie for posting our picture of the New Dungeness Lighthouse on CAM5.

We are watching a History Channel program about the Mayflowers crossing of the Atlantic. I\'m glad I never had to sail in those days.
