I hope I\'m not too late...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, WEBBIE!!

I had to work very long the last days of this week but now I\'m off for the rest of the year. And that will be the time to answer some mails and to write a longer post here on the GB.

I wish you all a very happy Christmas and some time to relax and enjoy the holidays.

Whatho chaps.

Just a quick visit to say MERRY CHRISTMAS to one and all and a belated happy birthday to webbie.

Treasa - Looks like we\'ve been sharing the weather again.

Heavy snow on Friday and a raging blizzard on Monday, took me four hours to drive 15 miles from our Luton office

to home.

Freezing temps all week, but raining now and snow disappearing fast.

Would have been nice to have a white Christmas, but everybody is pretty fed up with struggling to get about.

Don\'t know why, but a few inches of snow and the country grinds to a halt.

Been pretty hectic trying to get two papers out in a short week, but we should be home by lunchtime tomorrow ready to stuff my face with mince pies and turkey.

Mornin\'...

Ha ha, great Ned Kelly cleek, Webbie. I began to laugh out loud along about the time of the seven swans aswimming in the bathbub, and, of course, it gets worse and worse from there until you fall out of your chair laughing. Very funny. An uncontrolable laugh session is a great way to start a day. I\'m wired, now.

I\'m off to frolic and cavort, since I am all prepared for Christmas, and I hope y\'all have a great day. You especially, Webbie. Happy Birthday, again.

Take care Webbie.

Webmaster-Comment: Thanks Treasa. The past week at the Forty-Foot has seen a big drop in numbers. And neither Jack or Jenny made it this morning either. This sort of weather separates the men from the boys, I tell ya. Slan go foill.

Hope you have a great day, and don\'t go too mad on the Guinness and Fosters.....

40 foot first I suppose... then celebrations. You will have to break the ice at the 40 foot.... and wear your wet suit. Anyway Webbie, have a great day. Breithla sona duit, agus cead ceann eile mar sin.

Everyone else have a great day. Last of the Christmas shopping to be done today...

Weather still very very cold. minus 8c last night and roads remain very dangerous for driving.

Take care everyone, and stay safe. Catch you all later.

Webmaster-Comment: Thank you Liz. Jenny and Jack1 are coming into town later so we will have some Fosters. Jenny has fresh pix of Sheila for me to see. I think Jack1 wants now to leave Jenny with me (after seeing the pics) and he'll be meeting Sheila when he goes back - this gets a bit complicated....lorl

HAPPY BIRTHDAY WEBBIE

I might have got on sooner but I had a date with a Chesapeake Bay Retriever this morning at 4am. What a day, starry skys here, 15 miles south sleet & freezing rain, then snow, then clear blue skys & shirt sleeves. We watched thousands of Canadian Geese fly over our blind on their way to the fields to feed, then return only to leave again in the afternoon. I love watching the long Vee\'s of geese & their calling as they pass over.

Now I\'m smoking a turkey for our Parts Dept. lunch tomorrow, only another1 1/2 hours before I can go to bed.

That\'s a lovely stained glass window on CAM 5 today, Mark Westlake. I liked the German Shepherd dog you had on the other day, too. Handsome fellow. I think you call those dogs Alsatians. Nice breed, very serious about what they consider their work.

My son took me out to lunch today while I was in town, it was nice , I usually see him accompanied by his family, which is great, but it\'s pleasant to have a little time one-on-one sometimes with your kids, even if they are grownups now.

I wore myself out today doing preparations, but now it\'s just the good social times around the holidays to enjoy, that\'s a good feeling. Whew. I didn\'t think I\'d make it, but I always do. Hope you are there, too.

Today, my compadre at the office was showing me his new cell phone, knocked me out, it\'s a phone, texts, he can get the internet on it, it\'s a gps thing and will map out a route to and from anywhere, and tell you at any time just where you are, about the only thing it won\'t do is take out the trash. I forgot what it\'s called, but it was amazing. I\'m hopelessly behind on technology, I\'ve been made to have a cell phone, but I only use it when traveling. However, I have been Christmas gifted with an tiny MP3 player that hangs around my neck and has earbuds, already programmed with many gigabytes of mostly classic country music and the capability of putting more music on there, and I\'m crazy about that. You just walk around listening to music while you work...it\'s cool! I am rapidly becoming addicted to it.

Phillis, it\'s nice to hear that all\'s well in your world. It\'s important to stop long enough sometimes to note that, and to appreciate it. Good for you, Girl Friend.

TexMex...really good food, not always really spicy, though it can be. Did you ever put some finely chopped jalepenos and onion in cornbread? It just livens it up, learned that from a friend and now I always make it that way. Pickled okra, yum, okra any way at all for me, except when it\'s just boiled and gets slimy. I\'m going to try to grow some next year along with my tomatios, I hear it is easy to grow. I don\'t have a regular vegetable garden, I just usually just stick some tomatoes and some bell peppers and some basil in my flowerbeds, actually they look quite nice.

Well, I think I am finished with Christmas gift shopping and grocery shopping...just in time, as I am about to collapse. If there is anything I\'ve forgotten to buy for someone, tough bananas. They\'ll get my love in an envelope.

Steph, Bless your heart, we know things have been very hard for you, and we have been thinking about you and praying for Bruce, and we are so glad he is making a good recovery. Come in and talk when you can, but take it easy on yourself and don\'t worry too much about us...we can wait.

Jack 2, Phillis is right, not a pleasant thing you will have to have done, but worth it in the long run. I\'m sure it will go well. Good Luck to you.
