Thanks Webbie for posting my pic today on POD. This lovely bridge is from the 17 Century and is reputedly to have been built by Inigo Jones. It is only wide enough to allow for single file traffic and provides a good spot for views over the town and also up the valley towards Snowdonia. There is also a lovely old Courthouse on the far side of the bridge which is now a famous Tea Room - which I have posted before in Autumn covered in a Virginia creeper.

Thanks Webbie for posting my pic today. The old Dee bridge is the oldest crossing of the Dee in Chester and dates back to the very early days of settlement there. History dates this bridge to 1280. Almost 500 years later it was deemed \"too narrow and dangerous\" to cope with all the traffic that used the bridge. It was the main link into Wales from Chester. It is a Grade 1 listed structure.

Eventually a wider bridge was built, but the old Dee bridge, with its links to the walls is a favourite.

Thanks for posting my pic on POD today. Chester is a city full of interesting buildings some of which date to historic times in our country. This building in White Friars is hidden away from the usual tourist trails and dates back to the 17th century.

Known as the supply bridge. This point is the summit of our canal. It is the feeder supply from Lough Owel. Renowned public bathing area in times past.

Thanks Webbie for posting my pic today on POD. It was just one of those moments when something just makes you smile. This pair were deep in discussion about something or other oblivious to everything that was going on around them.

Thanks Webbie for posting my pic today on POD. Hope the Bank Holiday weekend went well

I am not sure of the technical term for sea holly but it is a very striking colour against the grasses. As part of the regeneration of the beach and prom in Colwyn Bay, there was some work done on the planting of borders. This appeared as part of one of those borders.

I am resorting to select all, copy. Then I try to post. If it then fails at least I have a copy to paste and try later.

Thanks Webbie for posting my pic today on POD. We have been lucky to have some good weather - albeit very limited - this summer, so far. On the River Conwy this tourist craft was making its way upstream on a hot, hazy afternoon. It almost looks as though it is making its way through a mist or sea fog.

Brought to mind Matt Munro singing about those \"lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer\"
