Catslave, how very kind of you to tell me those things, and I will try them.

Ms. Cat has never liked anything except the same brand of dry cat food she has always eaten, but I\'ve never worried about that, it\'s a good, balanced food, and she has always eaten plenty of it. She turns up her nose at tuna and chicken, it\'s only very rarely that she will eat anything other than the regular, and then it\'s just a nibble, but it\'s worth a try.

The medication she is getting is an appetite stimulant, actually it is an anti-depressant that stimulates appetite, but since it doesn\'t seem to be working yet, I\'ll try your suggestions, that\'s all good information.

She is drinking a little more water, and except for being very quiet and still, which is unusual for her, seems happy and purrs.

Thank you again for your concern and help, I\'ll do my best for her.

Pat

tricks to get old cats to eat -

(strictly emergency basis - as some of these are not acomplete/balanced diet for a cat)

1. baby food pureed meats can be scooped with finger and presented a little at a time - these are supplemented with human levels of vitamins tho...so should be used on a jumpstart only basis. Room temp or slightly warmed.

2. Tuna or mackerel or sardine \"juice\" sprinkled or poured on usual food (ole kitties lose sense of smell and just won\'t eat)

3. small bite-sized strips of raw chicken, beef.

4. warm her regular food (brings the scent out)

Will you have a fridge full of rejected stuff -- yup *l*

5. ask vet about appetite stimulants

Mornin\'...

Cute fella on CAM 5, Dennis Cavanaugh. He looks ready for any kind of mischief. If his name isn\'t \"Trouble\", it probably should be.

We are in for a cold spell here. Normal temps are 40F-low to 60F-high, but we are in for some 20F lows, or even into the teens for the next few days. Bummer. Hibernation time.

Ms Cat seems to be about the same to me, I don\'t see any improvement, but she will be going back to her regular vet early in the week for an analysis.

There\'s lots to do around here that has been neglected over the holidays, and I\'ve got to go into town as well. I\'m out of here.

Everyone have a good weekend. Stay warm.

We got more snow yesterday, but very little. Sun was bright and shiny today, so most of what we had is gone! So hooray for Mr. M and us! Well, I did most of what I planned. Everything except the housework. We went to a movie instead. Worked for me; didn\'t miss the housework at all (lol) Nice dinner with the cousins and Hobo the dog brought me a squirrel. Fortunately, Hobo likes to eat her squirrels. Last week it was a baby bunny. Maybe she needs to go live with Mr. M...

It\'s been a very lazy day here, if this is what I\'m going to do for the rest of the year \"YEAH\" because I\'ve done nothing today. It was pouring rain a few minutes ago, now the sun is shining. The 2\" of sn*w we got yesterday afternoon are gone with no shoveling. So far 2010 is shaping up to be a great year
