Steph, I know what you mean about your worries. Our house is total electric and if power goes out, then we are very cold! Fortunately the hubby\'s cousin lives near and he has a huge wood burning stove. We contribute the wood from the farm and he keeps the fire stoked!

I took a nice long nap for you...hope it made you feel better. It did a world of good for me.

Mr. Mic, glad to see you back. You seem to have a stressful job. Creativity has its price, I suppose.

Just finished reading a book about Richard III. Wicked times back then, what with killings and cutthroats. Of course, everything is so civilized now, don\'t you know.

The first Monday was lovely for me. Still snow on the ground, but sunshine was nice. First Tuesday of the year should be gorgeous. Have a good day, all.

So I come back, and everyone disappears. What\'s up with that? Mick, bracing for a nasty storm to hit Tuesday night. Since Riverton is in a valley the storm might get stuck here. I am not looking forward to that. I think I will hit the grocery store tomorrow night. Better be prepared. What scares me the most is that I don\'t have woodstove or a fireplace. There was a woodstove, but it was removed before we bought the house. At least I have my candles.

I did not want to work today. The kids were little burgers too! If the ceiling was low enough and outside at recess they would be clinging to it upside down. Better do my online school now. No time for nap. So Phyllis, and Liz take a nap for me.

Love and Hugs,

Steph

Hello chaps

Bet you thought I\'d stepped off the edge of the Earth where it says here there be dragons.

Hope ya\'ll had a great new year - among my resolutions is to try and visit me ol\' muckers on the GB more often.

Been a hectic few weeks what with trying to get to grips with the new editorial system and trying to produce two papers a week when the world and his mate has shut down from Christmas Eve to Jan 4.

But I\'m back now.

Annette - I haven\'t forgotten owe you an email.

Patricia - Try tempting Ms Cat with chicken livers.

Most of the country is experiencing sub-zero temps and more heavy snow is forcast for this week, nothing compared to what some of you endure, but a travek nightmare to your average Brit.

Gotta go - bubble and squeak for tea.

Oh, Liz, you\'re a dear. I love your attitude about life. I\'m not so much worried about my slimming as I am my heart, etc. Want to get off high blood pressure meds and heart trouble in the family makes me want to stay healthy. So, I walk on the treadmill, use the elliptical when I can. Not too much, believe me! Well, it\'s my nap time I think. Enjoying my time off from school by sleeping every chance I get! Take care everyone.

Thanks Liz!!! I never forget about my friends, I just was driving him to work and appointments. I moved his vehicle today, so hopefully he can drive it soon. Suppose to get a nasty cold front moving in on Tuesday. Maybe snowed in for a couple days, I think.

Pat, I truely am sorry to hear about Ms. Cat. I will hope she gets better soon. I hope everyone did have a great Christmas or Holiday. Good night for now. Looks like another big earthquake in the Pacific. 7.2 I hope all is well, it sure seems like a yearly thing around this time of year.

Hello all! Yes, I\'m okay, and Bruce is doing great. I go back to work tomorrow, but really could use another two weeks off. Bruce is doing great. He has the port out for dialysis, and probably will be driving himself around this week. What a couple of months. I\'ve learned alot, and will not take things for granted. Guys do the same. Mar, thanks for the Christmas card. I will be sending you one soon. (I think I always say that). Well GBEr\'s and Webbie, Happy New Year. May everyone be blessed with happiness, and security, as this new decade comes. Let\'s hope for peace within our homes, and throughout the world. Can\'t we all just get along? That is my prayer for this year.

Love and Hugs,

Steph

Except of clearing snow I had a lazy start into the new year, too, Mr Mies. And I guess the snow is gone until summer. So, it might be a good year for pleasant activities.

I hope our Webbie came well into the new year. He is the most important person here and we have to nourish and foster him. So, this is for you, Webbie... ♥ hehehehehe

Franka left us yesterday and school for Robert will start tomorrow and Mr A will start work tomorrow, too. My first working day will be next Wednesday. There is enough time to get ready for that.

I hope you will all have a good start into the first week of the new year.

We can\'t compete with Jane\'s temperatures but we also have -12°C/10F here around. We got a lot of snow the last days. We were out to clear the snow three times today and it\'s still snowing. Because of the snow directly in front of our house I went cross-country-skiing yesterday and today. What a pleasure to start right away from our doorstep. It\'s rarely possible. Usually we have to go to our nearby mountains for a ski tour. Forecasters say more snow will come and I\'m a bit worried as we don\'t know where to put all that white stuff. That\'s a different world here around from yours, Jane. Many houses, narrow streets and usually not much snow. AND definitely no moose or eagle in front of the house. Would like to see it...

But when I could choose where to live I would come to you, Liz. The older I grow the more I can do without the cold in winter. I can absolutely understand you.

PAT

I\'VE STUDIED A LOT OF AMERICAN HISTORY BUT DON\'T KNOW FOR SURE ABOUT THE REASON FOR THE DIFFERENCE IN THE ACCENT BETWEEN NORTH AND SOUTH . IT SEEMS THERE WAS MORE OF BRITISH IMMIGRANTS IN THE EARLIER DAYS FOR THE SOUTH AND THAT MAY HAVE SHAPED THE ACCENT . WHAT IS THE THE HISTORICAL REASON [ IF YOU KNOW ].

THANKS

Lizzie,How could i leave the bush the wide flat landscape of all shades of brown and purple shot with vivid green. The bright sun,the heavenly of the morning air, filled with inde-scribable scents from the soil and the vegation. The brooding stillness, broken only by the fluting maggies and all cockys singing lots of musical bird sounds.Remember Lizzy nobody grows old in Australia only those two Jacks. The bushrangers are going to track them down as they have been spotted in the bush two sundowners tramping in the bush with their blue blakkets rolled across their backs and their Tin Billys dangling. .As for the rest of us dinky di Aussies we go on with a cheery optimism taking an immense intrest in everything around us. Im having a lazy afternoon G\'Day from WA

Good day Jane in Alaska nice to meet you -30 F not -30 Celsius. How can you and your family survive in that temperature.Today in North Western Australia is 44 celsius in the shade. At 7am local time my family and I spent 4 hours at the beach and that was enough.the rest of the day we stay at home beside the pool.I guess I would die of the cold if we lived in Alaska.Im staying right here in the southern memisphere. Take care from down under
