Hey, Webbie, interesting cleeks of David Allan Coe. Thank you. He\'s been around the Tallahassee area some years ago, I heard that his father was kind of a hermit and lived on an island in the middle of one of our big lakes, with no electricity or amenities, and came in to shore by boat only every month or so for supplies. Don\'t know if it is true or not.

It will get up here into the low 40sF today, but that\'s too cold for any outdoor projects, so I\'m off to do extra vacuuming and dusting today. Bummer.

Y\'all stay warm in this widespread deep freeze. I think we are all cold, except for the Ozzies.

Take Care.

Did you get your snow yet, Mieses? My Dad used to say something like \"Red Sky at night, Farmer\'s delight, Red Sky in the morning, Farmers take warning\". Or maybe it was the other way around. Whatever.

Does anybody else have one of those Snugglie blankets? I have one, and I like it, it\'s really cosy. The only bad thing is that when you get up to walk around in it, the back falls open and your backside gets cold. I need to sew some velcro on it at the back neck, or get a big pin to close it. A few years ago, I tried to get Webbie to go nick the Tara Brooch from the National Museum in Dublin for me, but he wouldn\'t do it. What a sissy. He could have dropped down by rope on the case it\'s in from a hole in the ceiling above it, just like the jewel heists on TV, thus avoiding the electronic burglar system, and been out of there with my brooch in no time, but he just wouldn\'t do it. You can bet that my next Webbie will do that for me if I ask him.

Mornin\'..

Greetings from a chilly Florida today...the low last night was said to be 17F, it was still only 26F on the deck at 8:30 this morning, with 1/4 inch of ice on a container of water there. Very rare, and bad for veggie crops South of here. Expect to see your supermarket prices go up.

Nice pic of old stones on CAM 5 today, Dee Langevin. NJ has many really beautiful old industrial buildings that have been preserved, however the mason who built that arch wasn\'t first-class, it\'s poorly laid out, too much mortar because the stones are not carefully fitted which weakens the structure, and no real keystone to distribute the stresses evenly...but, hey, it\'s still standing so who am I to criticize. The stone has a lovely warm color, and I assume it is native, as it is unlikely that material was carted in in those days to build it. The color is it\'s true beauty.

Phillis-Sorry to hear about the girls loss. I don\'t do salads much for dinner, I have one every day for lunch though.

Well our snow, that was predicted by the red sky this morning, should be here any time. Then followed by a little freezing rain, then temperatures in the mid 40\'s F by Sunday.

Well the hubby has gone to bed and so will I. Good night all.

Hey Liz, & Phillis, don\'t get too excited about my shopping trip, it was to the grocery store. Well, I did buy some cookies. You know the ones that are kinda a shortbread with a chocolate kiss on top. They\'d go good with tea or hooch...Heck, they\'re just plain p*nking good by themselves...

Shopping?! Did we say shopping? Atta girl. Didn\'t get enough at Christmas, huh?

Waiting for the hubby to come home from feeding the horses then on our way to another basketball game of the grandgirl. A delightful 12 degrees when I went to work this morning. Pat, 45 is chilly for you. I\'ve been hearing about the cold snap in Florida. Hope the crops will be okay. ttfn

Hello you blokes from a very chilly willy Bedfordshire.

Gotta say all this talk about oggling birds on the beach and totty trotting past in their shorts is making me long for the summer.

Love in an envelope - haven\'t heard that one before.

Liz - Wotcha mean you\'re worried about me staying at the Oddfellows - whatever are you implying?

Sit on the naughty step for 10 minutes.

More heavy snow forcast for the weekend.

Hope to get some pics.

If the old saying \"Red sky at morning, sailor take warning\" holds true we are in for it today. We had the most beautiful red sunrise today. I hate it when the days get short & I\'m driving to & from work in the dark. The last few days I\'ve even been able to see my truck at 4:30pm.

It\'s good that Jack 1 is home safe and sound, with or without a Margaret.

Don\'t worry about what he brought you, Liz. He probably brought you his love in an envelope. Which is another way of saying that you don\'t get a present at all.

Y\'all Take Care.

It\'s chilly here, will only get up to about 45F today. I don\'t like it much, but most other places are worse. Seems to be an especially bad winter in Ireland. I\'ve heard several people complaining, asking \"Where\'s Global Warming?\" but actually, it\'s not called that any more, as what it means is just more severe weather, hot and cold, with more and stronger bad weather incidents like hurricanes and tornadoes, etc. They call it \"Climate Change\" now, and think we will see more harsh winters and droughts. Invest in a pair of wellies, and some tank-tops, and be a good conservationist.

Mornin\'...

Thank you all, and you too GBers and kind Catslave, for your words of comfort about Ms. Cat. We are all alright about it here, relieved that she isn\'t confused and not herself any more. We made sure she had the best of care and wasn\'t in pain. She had a good, long life, was a cat with real attitude, made me hoppin\' mad 1000 times, and made me laugh 1000 times...that\'s what all good companions do. No regrets, but I\'ll miss her.
