Nice picture on CAM5 today Liz. Thanks. That\'s what it was like here today, except for the clouds, rain, mid 40\'sF & being 350 miles from the beach. But still no sn*w & as I said temperatures about the same as Pats. I\'m still loving this winter. (Knock on wood)

Jeanie, I forgot to day that the mounds of potatoes are for individual servings, about 2\" wide and 4\" long, so that you are cooking as many dog beds as you have people to eat one. Not a dish I\'d make for grown-up dinner guests, but fun for kids.

Hey, Jeanie!

Nice to see a fellow Foridian on here. Just join in the conversation, and ask any questions you want, somebody will pop up and answer you, if they can. As you can see from the sidebar, there are people from many countries who post more or less often. If you click on the check mark next to the \"Location:\" bar when you are posting, you\'ll get a list of states and countries to choose from.

We sometimes do recipes if we find some quick and easy ones. Here\'s one that I used to make for my kids, I had forgotten about it until my daughter mentioned it the other day, and said they loved it. I never knew anybody else who made it, I may even have invented it. It\'s called \"Dog Beds\".

Cont.

Pile leftover mashed potatoes (or instant ones) in an oval shaped mound on a flat pan or cookie sheet. Put a cooked hot dog or a smokie link or a sausage on top. Put finely chopped onions and grated cheddar cheese on top of that, and anything else you think might be good, parsley, chopped bell peppers, hot pepper flakes, or cilantro, whatever. Put it in the oven at about 350F for about 15 minutes to warm it up good, and run it under the broiler for a minute to melt the cheese and brown the peaks of the potatoes. Nice with frozen peas and a salad. Enjoy. You\'re welcome.

Tomorrow the 13th is Gary D\'s birthday.

So I guess, I should have viewed the guestbook before I signed it! Does it always rain in Ireland? It seems every time I log in to the site it is wet! I am also from Florida, don\'t know how to put that on my location bar, it isn\'t there! It has been unusally cold here, but I am hopeful for warmer days ahead. So anyone care to share a favorite dish for dinner? I am making a casserole and get so tired of the same ol\' things day after day! I am originally from Florida, we are rare here. Most people who live in FL are from other places. Anyways, hope to hear some good new dishes to try! Thanks, Jeanie

I love checking your site. I am from the United States and have never traveled out of the states. I have studied about different places and hope to one day have the opportunity to travel abroad. I am studying to be a teacher for Middle School aged children at the present time. I love learning about other cultures and lifestyles. Thanks for your site, however, do you have a link where you can chat with someone from your location? I sometimes have questions and would love to be able to ask them. Have a wonderful day!

Mornin\'...

Thank goodness, we are to have a break in this pi*nking cold weather by Thursday, no freezing nights for a while.

Nice fly pic on CAM 5, Mark Westlake. Ugly buggers, aren\'t they? It\'s a good thing they don\'t grow to the size of German Shepherds, that would be frightening. I never did figure out why God made them, anyway, don\'t know of any good they do, except torment people and critters. At least bees and wasps pollinate our flowers and veggie crops. Please forgive me, Phillis and Liz, it\'s only a saying, but flies are like short people...they got no reason to live.

I thought that song ♫\"Short People\"♫ was really funny, and if you listened carefully to the lyrics it was clear that it was meant as a teasing joke, but some people got very incensed over it.

I hope you are all staying warm. There\'s work to do here, I\'m gone.

Annette, your dinners are exactly what I mean. People in the States do as Pat said, go to restaurants for Sunday dinner whereas it used to be a traditional family time. I used to go home every Sunday for dinner with the family. Now I am too far from my own family and miss those times around the dinner table.

Well, I must say, we still have dinner every Sunday all together. I don\'t know if this is considered big or not but I or Mr A or my mother or mother-in-law cook and we have dinner together. Except when we are on tour or in these days as driving is very bad now with all the snow and uncleared roads. You are welcome to have dinner with us.
