100 MPH Goat

Two rednecks are out hunting, and as they are walking along they come upon a huge hole in the ground. They approach it and are amazed by the size of it. The first hunter says \"Wow, that\'s some hole; I can\'t even see the bottom. I wonder how deep it is.\"

The second hunter says, \"I don\'t know, but let\'s throw something down and listen and see how long it takes to hit bottom.\"

The first hunter says, \"There\'s this old automobile transmission here, give me a hand and we\'ll throw it in and see.\" So they pick it up and carry it over, and count one, and two and three, and throw it in the hole. They are standing there listening and looking over the edge and they hear a rustling in the brush behind them. They turn around just in time to see a goat come crashing through the brush, run up to the hole and without hesitation, jump in head first!

Thanks, Annette. I figured it had to have something to do with the format. I have all those you posted before, it was great of you to find those. I can go and get them from a Word document and they show up correctly on the GB, and I have already used the musical notes. I thought it would be particularly neat to have the thumbs-up and thumbs-down, the meaning of them is so immediately recognizable, but they just will not translate, and it just shows me that little square when I try to put them in a post. We\'ve already been told by Webbie that we can\'t have any new smilies, that it would disrupt the existing program for posting, and I don\'t want to do that. I\'m still searching for some usable symbols, so if you see strange postings, Mies, I\'ve not gone bonkers, It\'s just an experimenter at work. Maybe I need a \"MEN WORKING\" sign to put on those posts to warn you. Or, more correctly, a \"WOMAN WORKING\" sign. I\'ll try not to break the GB, Webbie. Hehehehehe.

Ha, I love the blue critters on CAM 5 today, Mark Westlake. None of that bunch is going to win any beauty contests...there must be 75 versions of UG-LY in that bunch. And who is that black fella with the dirty brown fur cape in the middle? He looks like the devil himself, horns and cloven feet and all! Gawd, that\'s a great picture. Thanks!

Liz, blonde? It\'s nice to have a change.

Annette, I\'ve heard that about onion being good for coughs & colds. A lot of Vit. C in onions...Not good for breath, but no one wants to get near you with a cold any way. I don\'t know what you and Pat are doing with the symbols but looks fun.

Pat, do you remember my mazy signs some time ago? That was when I tried to copy the interroband and some other symbols here. But Webbie\'s font type doesn\'t support some of the symbols. That\'s why your celtic cross and some others didn\'t come out. Here are the symbols that worked well. I hope anyway...

Rain, rain, nothing but rain here for the last two days. Our snow is melted down and there are the dirty piles of iced sand, stones and grit left that I don\'t like. I can cope with the snow and the cold but I hate the present wishy-washy weather that can\'t really decide for one direction.

Teresa, it\'s so nice to see you on here. Try to enjoy the quiet time. That will do you good.

Mick, we prepare a chopped onion with honey and take the \'onion juice\' against the cough. It helps very well.

Liz, sounds as you had a lovely treat. That\'s something that we girls need from time to time, right?

Mr Mies, thanks for the e-mail. Great duck pictures there and funny story about Molly. But be good and clean your boots now. hehehe

Phillis, hope your day went well.

Hello all...

Nice day here again.

Yes, Mr. M is taken with Molly. I\'m lucky she\'s just a dog.

In Spokane, We were hosts for The Expo 74 World\'s Fair. A clean up of our downtown area around the river took place. It was a very bad area with railroad tracks, & a place for bums & crime etc. It recieved a face lift and a new name, Riverfront Park. You wouldn\'t recognize it if you\'d seen it before. Our clock tower, from the times when the train station was thankfully restored and we now have a an Opera House, Convention Center, and a nice park for summer concerts by the water. We\'ve sent photos of the falls around last spring.

Ha, it must have been funny to see Molly after she had tried to walk on water, Mr. Mies. I think you are very fond of Molly, she sounds like one of those critters who are so endearing because they are so expressive, real divas. Would the masculine of that be \"divos\"? Whatever.

Bye!

It\'s good to see you back, Treasa. It\'s impressive to see a bad area of the city turned into a nice place, like your Docklands isn\'t it? It\'s like the famous and beautiful Harborplace in Baltimore here in the States, when I was a child you just didn\'t go there if you valued life and limb, and now it\'s the showplace of the city.

And where are the cleeks, Mr. Webbie??!! I\'m going into a real decline for lack of cleeks here. It\'s your fault.

Mornin\'...

I wasn\'t spamming, Webbie, and not singing, either, Treasa, and certainly not bonkers, Mies. I was working diligently to give us some symbols to use on this GB, but my technical skills were not up to it, and I\'ll have to call in Annette to help. She already gave us the music symbol, and the little hearts. Everything turned into a little square, should have been a Celtic cross for Father O\'Mahoney, the hand symbol for \"Well Done, Perfect\", a thumbs-up and a thumbs-down, and a Tudor Rose for Micilin. Well, maybe the \"bonkers\" part is accurate, but please remember who gave you the PureVoice thingy that we played with a couple of years ago. Why don\'t we do that anymore, anyway?

No time to work on this noble experiment today, unfortunately.

Bye!

During the summer when I went by train to Dublin, and our kind Webbie met me from the Luas and drove me to the hospital, well after my appointment, I took a walk down the docks area and I was really amazed. It is almost a fairy land now.

Usually when I drive to Dublin I don\'t take time to visit areas, other than where I should be, but on that day, I had an hour or more to kill before meeting Ian for lunch, and it was just the best hour, spent walking and sightseeing. I promised myself I will do it more often.

I think Patricia is trying to sing to us. Please let us have the words to the music!!

Hi Phillis, your day does not sound like fun at all. Good luck with it.

Hi everyone else. Catch you all later.

Afternoon everyone. It\'s good to be back here chatting to all my friends. Grey overcast day here much like the day Micilin had yesterday.

But already I can see a little stretch of daylight in the evenings. That\'s enough to lift the heart a bit. My sainted mother used to say

\'after 6th January you would notice a cock step of a stretch in the evenings\'. She was right..... Roll on the long summer evenings...

Liz, you would hardly know the docks area now.. It is so pretty and the bridges and buildings are so smart and modern.. It is almost the \'hub\' of Dublin city. Can you imagine that?

Yes, webbie, what is that thing leaning backward?

Mies, thanks for the kind words.

Treasa, glad you feel like posting. Good to see you back. Good health to you.

My day will be bittersweet. Physical therapy in the morning, dentist in the afternoon and class this evening. I\'m looking forward to the class, but the rest is for the birds.

Forgot to tell you before, I saw a Northern Pygmy Owl today. The first I\'ve ever seen, it looked like a regular owl except a lot smaller. At first I thought it was a hornets nest in the tree, then a quail, until it turned it\'s head all the way around to watch me. Very cute, I want one for a pet, it would keep the mice in check.

Great 2 days in Eastern Washington. I took today off for one last pheasant hunt. Shirt sleeve weather, 55F & sunshine. I even saw a ladybug colony out in the field. Molly pointed a hen pheasant & it flew across the creek, she gave chase & found out about another rule. \"Dogs can\'t walk on water, even if it looks like dirt. She shook off & gave us the \"What was that about?\" look.
