The nearest town for groceries is 12 miles away. The largest town is Wichita Falls, which is 45 miles away. So you can see we are very rural people. The hubby works in Wichita Falls as a machinist. I work at the county hospital and the local cafe, both part time jobs. We are fortunate to both be employed in this economy.

In my spare time, I dream of Ireland...

Wow, that\'s probably, as we say here, TMI (too much information)!

Mar, feel better soon dear friend.

Happy Tuesday to everyone.

We live in the corridor of the states known as \"tornado alley\". About a 100 years ago our town was ripped apart by a tornado. So, being the industrious people they were, they simply rebuilt on the other side of the railroad tracks since they did not have the means to remove all the debris. This is not my favorite part of Texas. I come from Central Texas where there are no flat lands. We were literally peanut farmers, with red sandy soil. East Texas is famous for the piney woods and antiques, and more red soil. Here, there are many rocks and black soil. Some rattlesnakes. I lived in West Texas for a while where the oil boom was great in the 50\'s. There, you actually had rattlesnakes in your front yard. I stepped over one while getting out of my car. I hated West Texas. The wind blows constantly and I\'m terrified of snakes.

I am so confused over this Jenny and Margaret thing. I thought they were both your lady loves...and now they are in the same house at the same time? What a rounder you are Jack1.

Mick, I don\'t live on a ranch. I live in a small frame house \"in town\" which is a very small community. We have some acreage outside of town which the hubby inherited. To actually ranch or farm in Texas these days would require massive amounts of land, which is cost prohibitive on our budget. We are located in north central Texas in an area referred to as Texoma since we are so close to the Red River which is the boundary between the state of Texas and Oklahoma. The land here is flat along the highways, but the back roads have beautiful views of rolling hills, which is why they named our town Bellevue. We jokingly refer to the flat land as being the land of least resistance for the tornadoes.

Mar-Only a little sn*w here this morning. The driveway was clear at 7:15, when I left for work at 8:00 it was 3/4\' deep & flakes as big as silver dollars that you could almost hear hit the ground. By 9:00 it was raining & the sn*w was gone.

We went duck hunting yesterday & it was shirtsleeve weather after 11:00. The river as calm, the skys were clear, & the ducks were flying so high they needed oxygen. The only excitement was when a very large cow moose crossed the road right in front of us, which is why Chuck & I always travel that stretch of highway in N. Idaho about 10 MPH below the posted 65 MPH after dark.

I still remember the big Yellowstone earthquake in 1959. I woke up & the whole house was shaking, I asked my Mom what it was & she told me it was just my little brother shaking his crib. We lived in Genesee, ID. at the time about 350 miles away as the crow flys. It scared me because I was reading a book at the time about a trip Teddy Roosevelt took on the Amazon River. He woke up in the night & tried to strike a match on the bed post, it didn\'t work. When he got the lamp lite there was a large snake coiled around the bed post. Enough to give a 13 year old nightmares without the house shaking.

Hello all! Still cold here, but not like Mar\'s nose. Phillis, I haven\'t heard about the 6.1 yet, but there sure has been some close to 4.0. Never know. All I can say is that the wind is calm, and the birds are silent. Even the dogs are quiet, so you can tell that there is activity close by. More snow tomorrow they say, but I can say almost 54 more days until Spring.

Better do some work. Almost time for bed, so Europe should be arising.

Love and Hugs,

No trip to Hawaii, I\'ve been there 3 1/2 times when I was in the Navy. There are lots of other places I\'d like to see first. Monument Valley, Mesa Verde, The Grand Canyon, the inside passage to Alaska, & the Everglades just to name a few.

On my way out the door again, class in an hour..So it is Mies\' anniversary. Happy Anniversary! That is great, it is amazing how time flies by to me, it is so fast. Staying busy attributes to that concept, it does make me sad! It seems most days begin and before I know it it is time for bed! Anyways, hope all is well with everyone. Will post again real soon! Phillis, I’m also looking forward for spring, it’s always cloudy and rainy here, and cold too, way too bad! This live concert for your neighbour sounds great, I’m sure he had a perfect birthday celebration, right? I agree with Annette, photos of the horses, please!!! By the way, you’d better do your exercises at home or we’ll send Madame Woo to your home to punish you, ok???

Mr.Mies, did you get snow there? My cold is better, only that my nose is terrible right now, like a fountain, but apart of this I’m improving, thank you! Those rattlesnake (and the mean brothers) hadn’t learned at what time the BBQ restaurant was opened, quite understandable, did they have time to ate some meat?

Mies, mmm, so this is what you first liked of Mr.Mies, the way he could (or couldn’t) dance, quite romantic, he, heee… Haaa, haaaa, did you see Pat trying to get you the trip to Hawaii that you miss so much? It was close, it was close, I think Mr.Mies calculated the exact date difference because at first he thought that Pat was right!!!

Hello everyone, I\'m getting a bit better day by day (I already went to work today), but my head is still a bit dizzy because of my bad nose, which is almost totally closed, but I\'ll feel much better soon, I\'m sure, I\'ll let you know, thanks to those who asked about it and expressed their good wishes

So, I\'ll be brief today(or I\'ll try)...

Webbie, great Saturday cleeks, good rock, thank you, only that I don’t know what Madame Woo will think of the title of the last cleek, though… The Irish harmonica sounds great too And this kid playing the saxophone so sweet, wow! The last ones were… well... Engelbert Humperdinck???????? ( )
