Cont.

I don\'t know if people do this any more, but in my day girls used to keep what was called a \"Hope Chest\", where they stored things to use when they went to housekeeping on their own, and I am looking for some nice little chests for Erin and Lauren to put things like that in. I am sure there was such a custom in some European countries as well, I\'ve seen Pennsylvania Dutch antiques that are called \"Kas\" that were used that way, that would have been of German custom, and \"Dower Chests\", probably English. They eventually make a nice piece to keep at the foot of the bed to store extra blankets in.

That\'s all for now, I hope you are all well, and staying out of trouble.Take Care.

\'Scuse me, Mar. I slipped and said a bad word. Pi*k.

I\'ve been busy helping my Lauren do a school report about Ireland, she\'s got to do a board with pictures and information about the country some of her ancestors came from, and she picked Ireland, knowing her Meema would be a good source and would help her. She\'s got to give a 5 minute talk about it, and 5 minutes doesn\'t seem llike a lot of time, but you talk for 5 minutes...I guarantee it will seem like forever. She can use 3\"x5\" index cards with notes for it, so I am typing those for her. She\'s supposed to tell what the children do, and about foods, customs, occupations, etc. What\'s a typical Irish food, Webbie? Isn\'t there a potato dish called \"Boxty\"? I\'ll have to try to find a recipe for that on the net, unless you think there is a more definitive Irish dish we could describe.

You\'re welcome, Liz. That bed of daffodils will be beautiful in another week. I had to drive to Monticello today, and the spring things are really beginning to come out, there was a wonderful pi*k tulip poplar in full bloom, with a perfect petticoat of Spanish moss all around the bottom of it, and there is a kind of Redbud that is earlier than all the rest of it\'s kin, and especially bright fuschia in color that is blooming as well. The camellia blossoms are all just about over, they have made red and pink and white pools of color on the ground under them, where all the blossoms have fallen. It may be only a few weeks before the azaleas and dogwoods come out, then the wisteria. This is my very favorite time of year. I haven\'t seen the migrating flocks of robins yet, though, only a single one in a field the other day.

Continued...

What\'s blooming down there, Jeanie? You are usually about 2 weeks earlier with dogwoods than we are here. Do you have Jacarandas? I don\'t know if you have them as far North as your area, but when I lived in Lakeland they bloomed in April, and I just loved them, I think they are the most beautiful trees in the world.

Loved those cleeks, Webbie. I don\'t know who that Moore person is, but he looked like he would be fun to know.

Well that is AWESOME Phillis, I LOVE sign language!!! I took it as my foriegn language two years ago, it is somewhat different in different areas, but in the U.S. it is supposed to be the same! It is a language and sometimes it is a bit confusing but I still loved it! I took ASL 1 and 2, wanted to pursue a degree in deaf education, maybe I still will who knows. Anyways good luck, there is a great website that has a dictionary where they will sign the word, even some phrases for you if you want to check it out. It is www.aslpro.com, I love it, there is even a \'quiz me\' link where you can try to guess the signs, or improve your reading quickness with fingerspelling. I want to know all about how you are doing, if you have any questions feel free to ask, don\'t know that I will know the answer but I can try!

Good Morning or whatever, wherever you are. It\'s a little overcast here & 40F. I hope the big storm in the east missed everyone.

Our daughter, Debbie, just returned from Canada, where she went with her boss to carry the Olympic Torch for Team VISA Thursday night. We watched it on a live CAM, but the video part of our computer crashed. They get to keep their torch & she brought it to show us. It\'s like a giant butane lighter. I\'ll send a picture or 2 around later.

I\'m glad it was an egg because I thought it looked like a maggot...but didn\'t want to say that...but then I just did. Oh well. I\'ve heard of stiff upper lip, but I never heard of a stiff kisser. Learning all kinds of things on this board.

More cold stuff coming. Don\'t think the fence will get done any time soon. Pat, how does your garden grow?

Thanks everyone, I\'ve had a great birthday so far! Thanks, Webbie for the wishes!!! So far I\'ve had some cupcakes, went to a movie. Which was \"Leap year\" really good, since it is filmed in Ireland. Recognized some of the areas. And tomorrow is the annual \"Crab crac\" for the Winterfest here. Sunday Superbowl party, and then Monday is the in-laws party. After that life should slow down.

Mar, get feeling better.

Love and Hugs in Cupcake heaven,

Jack was correct naming the \"Whatzit\" as a frozen egg. Egg probably laid by the hen feeding with the cats. Hen was \"laying out\" as we used say. The egg was found with the shell cracked and when peeled back it was discovered that the egg was frozen.

The star prize of a Lambo is winging its way to you Jack - Congratulations!!!!!
