Here you go, Annette. Recipe for Southern Fried Green Tomatoes, in case yours don't get ripe.
Ingredients
1 extra large egg
4 tablespoons milk
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 green tomatoes, sliced
Directions
In a small bowl whisk together egg and milk. In another small bowl mix cornmeal and flour.
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat; use more or less oil to reach about 1/4 inch in depth.
Dredge tomato slices first in egg mixture, then in cornmeal mixture. Carefully place slices in hot oil and cook until browned on both sides.
You're welcome.

Mornin'...
Thank you for the cleeks, Webbie. What makes my speakers sound so good this morning?
Just popped in to say "Hello", no time to chat.
Hi, Mies, nice to hear from you, sister-friend. Love that Cat lawn sprinkler, I wouldn't mess with a bear-size spider, either. Hehehehehe.
Jeez, Annette, I'm jealous of your tomato crop, I didn't have even ONE tomato this year. Bummer.
Bye!

Pat, sometimes I envy you for your warm weather and the vegetation but I also like the change of the seasons and the real winter. And be honest, you also envy me for the possibility to train for Olympic Games in disciplines like snowball-throwing, snowflakes-counting and snowhill-hopping... ...not to mention leaf-jumping.
My tomato-plants are very big with lots of tomatoes at them. The first harvest some weeks ago was good but now they don't get red. To many dreary days in the last week. They are still green all.

Hello Liz, that really was a funny picture yesterday. The big lazy cat and your tiny Grace. It seems the cat could be her mama and takes care of her. hehehe
Mick, interesting soup recipe. It wouldn't come into my mind to mix all of that ingredients for one soup. But it's worth to try. I like soups... and experiments. Nice photo. It looked like ice and snow.

Mornin'...
Awwww, cute pic of Bear and Grace today, Liz. Grace certainly is a LITTLE dog. Do you think she will ever get as big as the cat? I don't know how it is with tiny dogs, I haven't ever had one, but dogs usually grow until they are about a year old, then just put on more bone until they are about 2, when they are considered mature. Grace will have to hurry up if she wants to ever reach the cat's size!

Keeper is 32 pounds now, and is 15 inches high at the shoulder, and is actually considered a medium-sized dog, but she seems little to me because I have always had larger dogs, Irish or Gordon Setters and an Afghan Hound. I just prefer the personality and temperament of the sporting breeds, and the Cockers are the smallest of that category. Keeper looks like a sissy, but she is really a surprisingly tough, strong little dog, and not afraid of anything. She's like a smaller version of my Irish, Kerry, who was my best-beloved dog of all time, and will be deep in my heart forever.

OK, Summer is over with Labor Day come and gone, and I am ready for cooler weather, but I don't like it to be too cold. I'm going to plant some more snow peas, my first crop fizzled because it was too hot. I have the largest tomato plant in the world, the only one that survived he cutworms or critters that mowed my spring plants down, but it hasn't had a single blossom or tomato, and I've given up on it. I'll be planting some more tomatoes now, which should give me some fruit before real cold weather sets in. We'll see, this hasn't been a good year for veggies in my garden, but it is nice to live in a climate where it's warm enough to grow things 3 seasons of the year.
Everybody have a good week, and Take Care.

Hello all! Well Labor Day is almost over, and back to work tomorrow. Okay well the weekend went fast, and I am ready to have my schedule back. Bruce and I went to a football game in my hometown Friday night. We came back on Saturday, and I was worn out. I am not a good passenger so I drove both times. Well I hope everyone is doing great, and Liz love your pets today picture.

Whatho old beans
Webbie - Thanks for posting my pic - really cheered me up on a miserable Monday with the rain lashing at the office widows.
Many of the scenes in the film Local Hero were shot in that area.
Patricia - Yep - soupy's a beast alright took a bite at my thumb when I got careless cleaning it on Sunday.
This week's recipe - tomato, carrot, red onion, sweet pepper, garlic, ginger and chili - YUMMEE.
Got a coupla days off at the end of the week.
Her indoors is going on an all-day train excursion to Edinburgh with her coven cronies on Friday, which means I will have all that time to get into mischief.
Yo Texas - Sitting on the back porch looking at the stars in your nightie - shameless.

Mornin'...
Happy Labor Day to all Americans. It's the day that marks the end of the Summer season here. Lots of family picnics and cook-outs. Please drive carefully if you are traveling.
That was nice of Steven to let us know your modem wasn't working, Liz. Glad to see you operable again.
Micilin, you are a serious soup-maker. I went to check out your new appliance at Lakeland Windemere, and that little bear costs an arm and a leg. I mostly use an electric slow cooker, but of course it doesn't chop up veggies. Holy Mackerel, what will they think of next.
Too bad you have to work on Labor Day, Phillis, but I suppose somebody's got to keep the country running.
It's still hot here during the day, but it is cooler in the mornings now, and lovely to get outdoors then.
Nice cleeks lately, Webbie, and interesting pics on CAM 5. Thanks, Everyone.
Y'all Take Care, and have a good week.

"Not To Worry" is owned by an entrepeneurial African lady called Maureen. She has been there for several years. When she was setting up she was listening to a lot of people worrying about this that and the other and that is where the inspiration for the shop's name came from. She sells a large range of wigs and as you may know, African ladies are very particular about their gruaig (hair). She also used sell ethnic foods but I think she has stopped at that as import regulations are too stringent.
I buy all my wigs from her and leave them back to her when I need a perm....lorl
